We were a group of 4 with ages between 27 and 49 staying for 7 days and so opted for a 5 trip Explorer Pass. We had an idea before arriving in NY which trips we were interested in. We found no problem in picking up the Explorer Pass or booking any of the individual trips; in fact we upgraded the pass for certain tours once we were there. It was definitely worth the money, and the fact that you have to pick the pass up from a different place to where you need to book the individual trips is just another walk, and you should not visit NY if you have an aversion to walking. It was brilliant!

We had a fab time. The explorer pass was brill, and we saved a bit of money buying the pass as opposed to paying for entrance fees individually. The staff at the desk where we had to get tickets were always very helpful.

Perfect for one week in NYC. Only thing we couldn't do was Ellis Island - the line was way too long!

Really good way to see NY and much easier than having to wait in line for tickets, would recommend it to all who are travelling to NY to see the sights.

Very good and versatile to provide various options of places to visit.

Well worth the money if, like us, you do many sights. Make sure you collect your pass and booklet on the first day so you know where to get your tickets.

Not enough interesting options in the booklet.

The pass was good, but we actually ended up spending more on the pass than on the activities which we did.

When we decided to take our first of 5 venues, we picked the city tour. The tour was great - very informative and fun. We used the pass for Rockefeller Centre and then ventured to the Guggenheim and MoMA. At the Museum of Natural History, we learned we were to have redeemed our pass at Ripley's. I went through all of my email correspondence and did not find any information about that. I did find the information in the booklet. When we visited, we were advised of many exhibit closures. When we expressed our displeasure at paying full price for admission with so many closures, they replied that admission was by donation and they would accept half price. We concluded that the price of the pass was the same as if you were paying regular price - and you had to pass through a special ticket counter for each venue, which had less staff and sometimes more customers than the regular lines.

We were not informed that we still have to contact the different companies the tours and sites are under, our time were wasted locating these companies especially they do not take the explorer pass over the phone.

The choices were very good. We enjoyed the 3 that we chose, the Rockefeller Center tour, Top of the Rock and the double decker hop on, hop off bus tour. We did find it extremely frustrating that we had to walk down to 42nd St to get our voucher exchanged for a bus ticket, then walk back up about 8 blocks to catch the bus. Also, we passed a Heartland Brewery on the way but had to walk an extra 2 blocks beyond the 8 blocks that we already had to go out of our way because it was the only location that honored the discount coupon. That was a lot of unnecessary walking, because we spent our entire day walking around the city and to from our hotel, which was a good distance away. If you take the bus tour late in the day, I recommend that you do not get off at any of the stops. We saw some very angry passengers who had been waiting for a return bus, and 4 full buses had passed them up. Our bus also passed them up, promising that another bus would be along in about a half hour. That really got the crowd going; they had been waiting almost an hour already. Other than those issues, we had a wonderful day in the city. We love trips to NYC!!!

Had to pick up pass at one location and then go to ANOTHER location to book the Sex & the City tours we wanted to go on. And they moved. The new location is not printed in manual given at pickup site. Call ahead for the office location.

Just too discombobulated a venture. Had to book based on availability. You can book some tours directly, like the Brooklyn Bridge bike tour, which was FANTASTIC! There is no list of those you call on your own & those you book through that incorrectly addressed office. If you're a fan of Sex & the City, you'll enjoy the tour. The movie & TV tour guide was exceptional.

We bought the 3 attraction explorer pass. It was not able to be used at the Statue of Liberty ferry and the Museum of Natural History did not even know what it was. These were the main 2 reasons we got the pass. Never even got to use it.

Reviewed by: Anonymous, United States of America, August 2008 Note from Viator: Hi Lee, just so you know, the Statue of Liberty ferry ticket and the American Museum of Natural History are included in the NYC Explorer Pass. The Statue of Liberty ticket is available at the ticket desk, enabling you to skip the line at the Statue of Liberty ticket booth at Battery Park. You still have to wait in the line to get on the ferry but cutting down on one line is helpful, especially during busy summer months.
