Why Our Insiders Chose This Tour
Pippin is feast for eyes and will appeal to even non-theater enthusiasts. Electrifying music, dance, and acrobatics combined with excellent acting and exceptional storytelling will make you rethink what theater can be.
What You Can Expect
See for yourself as trapeze artists soar across the stage, performers pedal unicycles and contortionists bend their bodies into positions almost as unimaginable as being a teenager in the Middle Ages. So sets the scene for the tale of the title character, a prince who is searching for meaning and passion in his young life. Watch the Leading Player narrate Pippin’s life as he goes to war, plans a revolution, murders his father Charlemagne, and falls in love with a widow named Catherine. Throughout the performance, adults can appreciate the complex plot themes, and teenagers can relate to aspects of the protagonist’s life; if nothing else, everyone will enjoy the sensational gymnastics, score and choreography.

Loved this show.
The booking process with Viator was easy and even though the voucher said pick up tickets half an hour before the performance we picked ours up no problem 8 hours before when the box office opened at 12 noon. Unfortunately you don't have a choice over the seat allocation and, although tickets were guaranteed to be in one of the best areas in the theatre, which technically they were, our seats were on the front row which gave stiff neck syndrome and we missed a good overview of the whole stage and anything that happened on the floor from the middle of the stage back. That said, although the storyline was pretty weak and the songs weren't the best I've heard in a musical, you couldn't fault the performers and the spectacle of the tricks and acrobatics which were some of the best I've ever seen (and I've seen a few)! Go and enjoy!
