Radio City

October 2007

Radio City in NYC. I managed to see a ton of sights with the 2-day NY pass. Not bad, ah?

MoMA

October 2007

Part of the inside of the MOMA in New York. An architectural feast for the eyes. The exhibits will leave you in awe and maybe they will bring tears in your eyes, depending on how big an art sucker you are. You will definitely be moved. This is one museum you CANNOT miss. It has to be the first on on your list together with the MET.

Colombus Square (Time Warner)

October 2007

Close to 58th St and the Opera house if I'm not mistaken. My hotel was two blocks from here. Very nice area, adjacent to the park.

Rockefeller Building

October 2007

The main building in the centre.

'Starry Night'

October 2007

One of the most famous paintings housed in the MoMA in New York City.

The Met (Concourse)

October 2007

The Metropolitan History Museum's beautiful concourse.

Brooklyn Bridge

October 2007

A view of the Brooklyn Bridge close to sunset whilst on a cruise up the East River.

Prometheus (Rockefeller Center)

October 2007

The huge Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center is lit in the square just in front of this statue and thousands queue to skate in the not so big ice-skating ring.

Statue of Liberty at sunset

October 2007

Who needs further explanations here? The Statue of Liberty was captured beautifully in this picture.

Empire State Building

October 2007

The Empire State Building lit during the whole week that leads to Memorial Day in May.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

October 2007

The outside and main entrance of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Natural History Museum Concourse

October 2007

One of the two giant dinosaurs in the Natural History Museum. Although I was trying to convince myself that it was time worth spent, I was unfortunately left with the impression that it was nothing more than a mediocre experience. If you're not less than 15 and part of a school group, you might want to reconsider.

In front of 'Ground Zero'

October 2007

The two high-rise buildings in front of where the beautiful and impressive Twin Towers used to be. An unbelievably sad and inexplicably awkward experience to describe.

United Nations Security Council Hall

October 2007

I met some really interesting people on this hurried tour. You see, it was my last day and I was trying to fit everything in 6-7 hours of sightseeing. Don't miss it though, it's worth it. Plenty of information you hadn't heard before about the United Nations and its role as an organisation. You get to see the General Assembly Hall as well the huge Hall where the Security Council convenes.

Guggenheim Museum

October 2007

Beautiful. Don't miss it! The Guggenheim Museum in New York (Currently restored on the outside, 2007; this is just a picture. I fooled you, didn't I?).
