Top of the rock by night. Empire State by day. Amazing!
We had to turn our vouchers in for a ticket, and our time was 1 hour after we turned in the voucher. Nwhile we waited we got lunch - there are many shops to choose from n the lower level of Rockefeller Center so there was something for everyone. The timing of tickets controls the crowds, which made the visit so much better. It was a beautiful cool day and the view was spectacular! On one side of the building we could see to the Statue of Liberty and on the orher to Yankee Stadiumand the GWB. IT WAS GREAT!
Purchased the voucher online before our trip, and skipped the lines to get the admission ticket. Went on a saturday around dusk and, even though it was crowded, there are a few levels to stand on outside so lots of places to view the entire city. Empire State/Statue of Liberty on one side, Central Park on the other. Gorgeous views!
"FABULOSIO!"....highly reccomend......the only thing we would "add" is a description of how the "entering" of the 911 Memorial was going to go. "before" we were left there......it was a tad "disorienting" to be brought up to a HUGE crowd at the climax of the wonderful tour "with" the guides and just told to "get in line with the tour guides leaving "imediately"...we had no idea "which" line and what was to follow but we "figured it out" :O) Over all the tour was incredibly thorough....fabulous "kind" guides and we highly reccomend this tour!
Excellent , when we got there we went straight to sign in desk , no wait to check in .rep told us next time to go up was in 15 minutes, and just to go over there at that time . We did , as soon as we got to entrance we went up within a minute. No waiting on long line it was great ....
Fab views if Manhattan, would recommend this.

Is it better than the Empire State Building? Hmmm, tricky to answer that! It's a far less pleasing building but we we there for views not architecture, and I must say that the view from the Top of the Rock is better, in my opinion, certainly the uptown view as you have unhindered visbiliity over Central Park and beyond. We were there early on a Sunday, so it was quiet, and we had a crystal clear morning, so everything looked stunning. Even as a vertigo sufferer, I really enjoyed this experience!
This is a must visit when in New York. Very efficiently looked after by the well trained staff. The view from The Top of th Rock is fantastic. Recommended.

Having done the visit to the Empire State building twice before I decided to do The Rock instead this visit. It was an excellent choice. My opinion is that the view from The Rock is superior and it is possible to access three external viewing platforms. It was surprisingly warm up there on a very cold day so I am assuming there is some form of heating in action. Access to The Rock was easy and quick. Highly recommended.
Fantastic way to start our holiday. My daughters have never been to NY before and this was a great way to see it for the first time. Got there at 9.45 and went straight up, no queuing. Great value
Not so long waiting in line for the ride in the elevator. Very nice view over the big city. Wonderful sunset!!!

We went to the Top of the Rock around 10:00 am to be one of the first tours but was told the weather was poor and we would not be able to see anything until around 4:00 pm same day. We appreciated the advise and came back around 3:30 and could see everything. It was a beautiful site to behold to see everything and the Empire State Building was across the way and looked like you could almost touch it. There were no lines and very easy to come up and come down at your own pace. Great tour and recommend to anyone.
It was a fantastic way to view the city.
Great views of the whole of New York from here. You get to learn about the history of the building as you travel up. Considering we went on Saturday morning I was expecting us to take ages to get up there. However quick security and a smooth operation all the way meant it took minutes. A number of levels provide different views and great views of Central Park on this tour. The Gift shop wasn't cheap but a great selection of products on offer.

Brilliant time and having prepaid tickets would of helped us beat the queues but when we went there wasn't any!! But it's helpful to book and pay for as much as you can before you go as this can help the budget.
