Top of the Rock was brilliant, well worth the money. The views are spectacular. We would definitely recommend it.

I took two trips to NYC in the last month. Both were to show foreign visitors to the city. The Top of the Rock is the best. We did not have a wait as I bought tickets online. View is magnificent and no crowds. You can take all the pictures you want and don't have to wait for a spot at the edge. The view of Central Park is fantastic. In comparison I went up the Empire State Building a few weeks earlier. We waited for 2 hours winding through lines and floors. Finally we walked up the last 6 floors, a very steep walk that many people had to rest along the way. We passed them as we walked up. The top was very crowded, hard to get to the edge, pictures difficult through the crowds, and then another wait to get down. We walked the 6 floors again down and then waited to take an elevator the rest of the way. The view was not as great as you are looking through bars. I will always take visitors to the Top of Rock in the future. You can get a great view of the Empire State Building for your pictures. Enjoy!

We went to the 86th floor of the Empire State Building on Tuesday and Top of the Rock on Wednesday. I recommend Top of the Rock. A much nicer experience with beautiful views and much less hassle.

This was more relaxed than the Empire State Building. Plus, the staff was more entertaining, especially the lift attendants. We would certainly go back.
