What You Can Expect

Newport Bay Evening Cruise Aboard Tall Ship

Newport Sunset

Leave Bowen's Wharf at your selected departure time aboard an 80-foot (24-meter) tall ship for a relaxing, scenic sailing adventure along Narragansett Bay. The elegant Adirondack II has all the elements of a classic pilot schooner, and would have looked right at home in this bay a century ago.

You'll be treated to wonderful views of the idyllic Newport waterfront dotted with popular landmarks including Newport Bridge, Fort Adams and Hammersmith Farm, the former summer residence of John F Kennedy. View historic lighthouses and impressive mansions along the Rhode Island coast, and don't be surprised if you see former America’s Cup yachts cruising alongside you!

Along the way, your friendly, knowledgeable captain and crew will provide commentary about the sights you see and explain Newport’s interesting maritime history. They'll be available to answer any questions you have, so don't be shy!

You're welcome to bring own picnic dinner on board to enjoy as you take in the views. Wash your meal down with yummy drinks, available for purchase.

Evening Cruise
Join your fellow sailors for cocktail hour on this late-afternoon sailing trip. Newport Dark and Stormy cocktails, a local version of the traditional Bermudian drink and a favorite among the local sailing community, are served on board this cruise at USD$4 each. This drink features Newport's own Thomas Tew Rum and Rhode Island's Yacht Club ginger beer.

Sunset Cruise
Experience a beautiful Newport sunset from the water on this evening sailing trip. Sip Champagne, wine or beer, available for USD$3 each, as you watch a sunset bathe the coast in a warm golden light. Don't forget your camera!

Excellent Crew, and Tour. There was a Regatta going on which was really nice to see. The Crew answered questions, but did not 'talk' the entire time-which was refreshing and relaxing. Drinks were inexpensive-and good. I recommend this tour, highly.
