What You Can Expect

Provence Countryside Small Group Day Trip

See the Cannes Film Festival Palace in Cannes

After meeting your guide outside your central Nice hotel for a convenient pickup, travel along the famed coastal road of the French Riviera. Admire the scenery as you make your way to Cannes, known for its famous film festival and sandy beaches.

Walk along Croisette Boulevard, window shopping on your way to the Film Festival Palace. There, see how many celebrity hand prints you can find.

Next, head for the scented city of Grasse, the world capital of the perfume industry. Go on a guided tour of a perfumery to learn about the complex art and science of making perfume, and enjoy some free time to explore Grasse on your own.

Continue up into the hills, taking in the increasingly dramatic views of mountains, valleys and the Mediterranean Sea far below. Arrive at Gourdon, a Medieval hilltop village, where you’ll take a break for lunch (own expense) before continuing to Loup Gorges. There, you’ll visit the famous Florian confectionery and taste some of the traditional flower-scented candy.

Pause for a brief photo-op at Tourettes/Loup before making your way to the final stop of the day — Saint Paul de Vence, the second-most visited village in the country. The charming historic lanes are lined with art galleries and pretty boutiques just begging you to browse. Enjoy some free time in Saint Paul de Vence before climbing back into the vehicle for the return trip to Nice.

Our guide Rolfe ? was very knowledgeable and informative. He talked almost the whole trip non-stop. Very impressive. He used a mic, so that was helpful, too. He was flexible and very accommodating as well. Since it was a nice day, he took us through a more scenic way instead of getting on the motorway, to go to Cannes. Also, because four of us had taken the perfumery tour in Eze the day before, he showed us where we could walk around nearby while the other four people were taking the tour in Grasse. The last stop Saint Paul de Vence was so nice and we wished we'd had more time to spend there.

Unbelievable experience. Small group, perfect locations, great guide, with the perfect blend of guided activities and free time. We were only in Nice for 3 days, and so wanted to get the most bang for our buck, and this was certainly it with respect to seeing the countryside. 10/10

Wonderful trip. The drive through and stops in Cannes and Grasse were interesting. The drive though the mountains in Provence was spectacular. Gourdon and St. Paul de Vence were amazing. We had plenty of time to walk around both. Our guide Victor was great. He was friendly and very informative and made several helpful suggestions for things to do during our stops.

Lovely day all round. Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery and beautiful excursions! Our tour guide was lovely, chatty and very informative. Being in a small group was very nice and meant we had plenty of time to wander around. I particularly enjoyed Gourdon, where I had a delicious lunch overlooking the beautiful countryside, and the Fragonard Perfume Museum. It was truly a beautiful day, thank you. I would definitely recommend the tour.
