What You Can Expect
The next stop on your small-group shore excursion is the Bee Hive, taking you behind the scenes to experience a day in the life of a bee. Hear about the health-giving properties of New Zealand's famous Manuka honey, taste the products, witness the bees' amazing hive community with its intricate network of shared intelligence, and hear the Maori legend that incorporates New Zealand's kauri tree and Manuka honey.
Your small-group tour continues into the Kaimai mountain range, stopping for lunch at a country cafe (own expense).
In the afternoon, admire the trees and birdlife of McLaren Falls and Park, and take a walk through native bushland to a lovely waterfall.
Your return trip to Tauranga takes you through rolling countryside and farmland via the top of the Minden lookout for panoramic views over the Bay of Plenty. Travel through Tauranga City and along the inner harbor with its bobbing fishing boats, over the harbor bridge and back to the port.

Tauranga was a beautiful place. Our tour person was wonderful and took us to many places of interest - especially the waterfall, kiwi farm and honey bees. We were able to take many photos and didn't feel rushed.
