What You Can Expect
When your time in the kayak is over, return to the shop to use their facilities before boarding your vehicle for the return to your Waikiki hotel. All tours include lunch (see the sample menu in the Itinerary section).
Choose from the following guided or self-guided tours:
From the expert staff, receive a thorough briefing of the area and recommendations for your trip. Then set out on your own to explore Kailua Bay. A barrier reef shelters the bay and allows for relatively easy paddling from Kailua Beach to the Mokulua Islands, Flat Island and Lanikai Beach. Have your choice of several places to land, including the Mokulua Islands where bird sanctuaries protect the nesting wedge-tailed shearwater, which is indigenous to Hawaii. Look for green sea turtles as you paddle and admire the coral reef, colorful fish and other marine life, all set against the majestic backdrop of the Ko'olau Mountains. Lanikai Beach features a pristine long white-sand beach with calm turquoise waters that is a favorite for kayaking and snorkeling. Suitable for all experience levels and ages.
Guided Kayak Tour (5 hours):
See more of Kailua Bay on this 5-hour tour with a small-group and an experienced local guide. Once you have your gear, set out for the Mokulua Island sea-bird sanctuary, located about one hour away by kayak. Land on the island’s deserted beach then hike around the island to see nesting birds and other highlights, including the freshwater pools at Queen's Bath—an open-air lava tube that is filled with cold freshwater. Take a refreshing dip in the pools before returning to your boat. Next, paddle across to Lanikai Beach and have time to snorkel in turquoise waters where you might see green turtles feeding near the coral reef. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the picturesque white-sand beach and have the option to try to kayak-surf, explore the beach or go for a swim. Your guide shares informative commentary about the flora and fauna as well as favorite ‘secret’ spots to visit in Kailua Bay. This tour is suitable for fit and adventurous kayakers, including children ages 13 years and older.
Guided Kayak Tour (2-hour Kayak Tour + 2 hours of Beach free time):
Join a small-group with an expert guide who takes you to Kailua Bay’s closer destinations on a 2-hour kayak tour. Visit Popoia Island where you look for the nesting wedge-tailed shearwaters in the island's bird sanctuary and Hawaiian green sea turtles in the water. Learn about the geology and natural history of Kailua Bay and the Ko'olau Mountains, which form a stunning backdrop to the bay. After a 2-hour guided kayak tour, return to the shop for a hot lunch. Then set out again with your choice of snorkel gear or boogie boards for two hours of beach fun. This option is ideal for beginning kayakers who would like a Hawaiian kayaking experience with a knowledgeable guide. Suitable for all experience levels and children ages 8 years and older.

Fantastic trip and the guides wade the difference with their intimate knowledge of e area and Hawaii. This was my favorite part of out trip. Be sure you've had experience kayaking for a few miles before this trip to best enjoy it. We had a couple peel off from our group after they fell off a couple times. You may also want to consider a single kayak unless you know you can coordinate well with your partner paddling. Plus, it's easier to take pictures of each other that way, too.
One of the best tours I've ever taken! Staff was friendly and helpful. Our guide, Jeremy, provided a wealth of information and was still explaining new facts to us about the area in the fifth hour of our tour! My friend and I loved this trip and would highly recommend this company!
We had a great time. Our tour guide was Laura and she was fun and knowledgable. My girlfriend and I are in our fifties and our first time kayaking. We had the best day and had no trouble keeping up. It was a perfect day.
Super beautiful, almost unreal but VERY worth it
This tour was challenging but fun. Our guide was excellent and truely gave us our time's worth. This was truely the highlight if our trip!
Great workout! Our tour guide, Princess, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Super fun day of snorkeling, exploring the island and learning about the history of the area.
As an inexperienced kayaker, the guided tour suited my needs perfectly. Our guides, Bailey and Laura, were well informed and paced the tour well. The bay was lovely, even if we did not see any sea turtles on this visit.
Great guide, loved going to the beach and the lunch was very healthy, would highly recommend to anyone who is feeling outgoing and who wants a rare experience.
A must do while in Hawaii. Fun and just a perfect location to Kayak.

Most enjoyable activity we did in Oahu. My mom was nervous about this activity, but it was her favorite as well. Kailua Bay is beautiful. The guides are knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend!
