Oahu North Shore Adventure Half-Day Tour

Oahu North Shore Small Group Adventure Half-Day Tour

This comprehensive half-day North Shore tour begins with a drive over the Ko'olau Mountains to the windward side of the island. Your first stop is the fabled Valley of the Temples to visit the picturesque Byodo Temple, located at the base of stunning lush green cliffs. You'll then take a drive along the scenic shores of Kahana Bay to arrive at Laie Point, a great location to observe native plant and seabird species.

Continuing north to Kahuku, you will visit several shrimp farms to see endangered wetland birds, including the black-neck stilt, Hawaiian coot and moorhen. Next stop is world-famous Sunset Beach and Banzai Pipeline, where incredible waves thrill spectators and surfers alike, especially between November and April.

For excellent views of the entire North Shore Oahu coastline, you'll stop at Oahu's largest Hawaiian temple, Pu'u Mahuka Heiau. The temple is scenically situated high on a bluff above Waimea Bay. At Turtle Beach you will stop to observe rare green sea turtles resting on the golden sand.

Traveling south you'll arrive at the colorful and historic village of Haleiwa, home to surfers, artists and craftspeople. After driving through extensive pineapple fields, you will arrive at the sacred Kukaniloko Birthing Stones, "Hawaii's Stonehenge". For 800 years, this special location was the birthplace of the royal chiefs.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended March 2015

This was an amazing experience, we went to so man beautiful places. Paul was an excellent guide and knows everything there is to know about the fauna and flora on Oaha. He even took us to his own secret spot where he knows the sea turtles like to hang out and we saw 3! Two in the ocean and one big one sleeping on the beach. That was the best part of this trip. Ending it with a quick stop at the Dole Plantation for some sweet pineapple ice cream was a nice touch as well. If you're into nature, biology, wildlife, etc. than this is the tour for you.
