Was a blast.! saw many sharks up close.. Perfect morning, met some nice people. There was a mix up with my reservation but the office took care of the issue right away and put us on a bit earlier, we got to do the shark adventure and loved it!. the video was worth it to get.
We all loved this shark dive! Unfortunately, the water was a little wavy and in spite of the sea-sickness preventative medication, some of us had a little problem with motion sickness. BUT, the dive is awesome and we are sooo glad we did this. The crew was very informative and helpful. The sharks behaved appropriately and even tho my legs seemed to keep ending up outside of the cage, I had a great time!
Great morning. Got their when the sun was rising which was pretty beautiful. Educating as well as great to see. This was great
Going into the shark cage was a highlight of our trip. We saw around 20 sharks around the cage while we were inside taking pictures and video. The crew was so amazing. We had a "picture postcard" kind of day and enjoyed every minute of our adventure. It was pure fun and adrenaline getting to climb into that cage and be surrounded by sharks. The crew was helpful and attentive with my friend who needed a little bit of help getting up and down the ladder to climb into/out of the cage. They explained things very well, were very safety conscious and did not try to oversell the t-shirts or the video footage. We both bought shirts but decided we had captured video ourselves and we opted out of buying the CD/DVD of photos. Even if it sounds a bit scary you should consider the shark dive because it was amazing fun and very safe.
Very good trip. Were able to see plenty of sharks. Several whales too (end of FEB). We could actually hear the whales when underwater!
Outstanding experience and fully exceeded expectations. At least a dozen sharks were present and within just a few feet (and often inches) of the cage. The staff and crew were also exceptional!
Oahu Shark Dive was by far my favorite event during a 9-day trip that included sky diving and horseback riding. The staff was knowledgable, accommodating, and all-around nice guys. The shark cage was an amazing experience. If I lived on Oahu, I'd go all the time.
This is *NOT* a shark feeding frenzy experience!
This is a calm, peaceful environment with beautiful animals, drawn to the boats engine noise. The crew are knowledgeable, with a good respect of the sharks and guest alike. They are not pushy to get you into the cage if you are uncomfortable. Also, if you choose to purchase a video of your experience (which I HIGHLY recommend doing!) they go above and beyond, to personalize it just for you!
All in all, it's now added to our yearly list of "MUST DO" things on Oahu.
Fun tour all the way around. The tour guides were super friendly and did an excellent job of explaining everything along the way. Tour takes you out about 3 miles to the cage, and you get about 20-25 minutes in the cage. Water is crystal clear blue, and we saw probably 15-20 sharks on our dive. All were Galapagos sharks. Tour took a total 2 hours round-trip. No bathrooms on the boat, of course. They did have free water bottles on board.
The day we went in mid-October, the water was apparently a little rougher than normal. Didn't affect me in the slightest, but a couple of the women on our boat got sick, so be advised if you are prone to seasickness.
One of my favorite tours of all time!
This is an absolute must do!! The crew are helpful and friendly, we drove ourselves and had no problem finding the dock. We had a go-pro but also bought the video for views from inside and outside the cage. There were at least 20 sharks all brought to the cage by the sound of the engines and a bottle splashing the water no chumming of any sort so no worries there!! If I make it back to the islands I'm doing this again!!
Easily the best part of the trip! 10 foot Galapagos sharks within 2 feet of you. And there were lots of them. They were interested in us but never aggressive. It felt like lots of time in the cage. As an added bonus, we saw a couple of huge Humpback Whales doing full body breaches on the way out to the cage. A great day in the sun. 1 potential minor drawback- about 2 of 16 people on our boat got seasick. You may want to take some Dramamine if you tend to get queasy.
Awesome tour!!! A little less people in the cage would make it even better, though...
