Our guide told us that 500,000 people visit this landmark every year. With good reason: the site is movingly and tastefully done. We followed this with a circle Oahu tour, which was great, even though it rained torrentially for the rest of the day. Don't miss our guide, Cousin Kev: he was funny, flexible, and prepared for the weather, in all quite possibly the best tour guide I have ever traveled with. Even the touristy stops were fun, the waves on the North Shore were frighteningly huge, and you could get a feel for what the island was like in the days of the sugar and pineapple plantations. Be warned, it is a very looong day!
This was an awesome tour. Our tour guide, Chris, was the best. We really felt like we had seen everything when we were done. The Polynesian Cultural Center was amazing. You could definitely spend a whole day there and of course, a visit to Oahu wouldn't be complete without seeing Pearl Harbor especially if you travel with history buffs. It was money well spent.
Saw everything we wanted to see in our one day stop in Oahu.
Tour was perfect.
Well worth the price - what a whirlwind day in O'ahu! Highly recommended.
My only advice: be sure to check with the company to confirm your pick-up time for the trip. It's not listed on the confirmation email that you receive when you book the trip. So...it's a bit confusing.
Great to have only 12 on our tour. Bus is uncomfy in the backseat...avoid...needs new shocks! Also the only other complaints...not enough time at the Dole Plantation. Would love to have had time to ride the Pineapple Express train on the property. Our guide was FANTASTIC...I tipped him 20...he was that good! Polynesian Cultural Center has improved over the 38 years that I've been visiting Oahu. Do see it...lunch buffet was GREAT...so many times they are not. IMAX movie at PCC was terrific with atmospheric effects with seats that move...wind in your face, etc. There was a snafu on the reservations. The local tour operator hadn't receive my reservation info...even though I had my confirmation number. Took nearly one hour by phone to get it straightened out...but VIATOR was fantastic and most proficient in getting it resolved. I would still highly recommend this tour. It is long but very, very fast. Pearl Harbor was fantastic and very moving.
Small group with high efficiency and flexibility! Got a big picture of Hololulu in just one day! Way to go!
This tour was great we had a driver Christine who was full of advice and was fun to be with. She made the trip a good time. She knew all the areas to point out and we didn't miss anything. we had lots of time to look around and take pictures which was great. Our lunch at the culture center was fantastic I ate until I was about to pop. the shows and all were fun and the i max movie was super. I would tell all my friends and everyone to take the tour. PS I liked being in the small group we all got to know each other and that was fun.
Wow, our tour Guide Tavita was knowledgeable and brilliantly funny. He taught us so much history but also kept the tour at the perfect pace to see everything. Tavita explained at each place of interest what to see which in my opinion is great as I was able to see more without the huge crowds. He obviously kms his stuff and how to get his way through the day without making people wait. Thanks again.
This was the perfect small group tour. Our tour director, Nancy, was just the right mix of personality, knowledge, and made sure that each one of us knew insider tips of of the various stops along the way. She went out of her way all day to stay with us and not stay on the bus when we arrived at each spot.
This was a 12 on a scale of 10. Fantastic!!!
This tour was just great! We saw so much of Oahu in one big day. Kona the tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun.
Cousin Kevin was our tour guide and he was fantastic! Funny, smart and full of interesting facts and knowledge about the area, he made the tour extra special!
Great full day tour of the sites in Oahu, our tour guide did an excellent job point out the various sights as well as providing us plenty of history of the Island. She navigated us well through the crowds at the Pearl Harbor memorial. Overall it was a great experience. Being on a small bus rather than a big tour bus was a big plus that led to a much more personal experience.
My only real complaint is that I felt that the Dole Plantation and the Macadamia nut farm stops were a bit of a tourist trap. Fortunately we did not spend long at these locations.
This was a very good tour, we had a highly knowledgeable tour guide, he kept us on schedule and we were able to see some extra sites. Would definitely recommend this tour!
This was the reason I came to Hawaii. To see the War Memorial. My husband passed through here on his way back from Vietnam. This day was the most memorable of our entire trip. Kona was the best tour guide with his historical knowledge beyond most we have spent time. The Polynesian Cultural Center gave you a good feeling for the various island people.
We had the best time on this tour. Our guide gave us so much history I did not know. He was funny too. The stops were really interesting. I think the only one I wasn't thrilled with was the Dole Plantation, which was basically a giant gift shop. Everything else held my interest the whole time. As a photographer I got some awesome photo's. I wish we had had more time at the Polynesian Village. The two shows he took us to were great and I would have liked to see more of the cultures. It was fascinating. The food was delicious. If you have to pick a tour, this is the one for sure. It covers so much in the space of 12 hours. I learned a lot about the Hawaiian culture and have so much respect for them. I would go on this tour again if I took another relative to Hawaii.
A MUST do tour, our tour guide Hana was great getting us to venues before the crowds, he gave us the heads up as a group do be back at the bus on time so we would beat the crowds and even get an extra stop in. Hana's knowledge was great and he even had bad jokes that made everyone feel good.
Great tour!! Our tour guide was funny, informative and always on point. Definitely would recommend.
Kevin did an excellent job of giving a fantastic overview of the island, its history, culture, and beautiful scenery. Best way to spend a day on Oahu when you have limited time. Pearl Harbor, Polynesian Cultural Center were the major highlights. Highly recommend!
Good tour......no complaints. Just wish it was sunny on the other side of the island
Absolutely one of the best tours I have been on. Tavati our guide was a wealth of information, funny and kind. Made for an exceptional day. Thank you !
This was a fantastic tour! Be prepared for a long, full day. We were able to experience so much of Oahu in just one day. Before taking the tour, we were uncertain whether we would have enough time at each stop, but we were not disappointed. Our tour guide was amazing. He was an excellent historian. We learned a lot about Hawaii pre and post World War II. If you have only a short stay in Honolulu then this is a great way to enjoy many highlights and still have time to relax on the beach.
