Small-Group Polynesian Cultural Center, Dole Plantation and North Shore Day Trip

North Shore Oahu

Following pickup from your Waikiki hotel in the morning, board your mini-bus with your small group of twenty people or less and head for the North Shore of Oahu. See the famous big-wave surfing beaches of Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay, which draw surfers from all over the world. 

Continue to the Dole Pineapple Plantation to learn about one of Hawaii's biggest exports. Explore the onsite architectural maze and try some tasty frozen pineapple treats. 

Head to La'ie Point to get some stunning ocean views, then visit another lookout point for views of Chinaman's Hat. Continue to Tropical Farms for some samples of fresh macadamia nuts and native Hawaiian coffee.

Your next stop is the Polynesian Cultural Center, where you'll spend a few hours exploring the exhibits and recreations of Polynesian history and culture. See demonstrations of traditional music and dancing, then learn to play the ukelele and dance the hula. Enjoy a delectable lunch of traditional Hawaiian foods like kalua pork, baked in a traditional imu, or underground oven. 

On the way back to Waikiki, stop by the Byodo-In Temple, a replica of an ancient Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan complete with a 9-foot (3-meter) tall golden Buddha.
