Since the 1960s, Sea Life Park Hawaii has been a rehabilitation center for injured and sick sea birds. Over the last three decades, we have donated hundreds of man hours and thousands of dollars to this worthy cause. At our Sea Bird Sanctuary you can see some of the birds that arrived at the park in sad circumstances and have been carefully and lovingly nursed back to health, as well as native Hawaiian sea birds such as the Iwa (Great Frigatebird). Session times are 10:20am and 1:20pm.

This fascinating exhibit area has another, more important purpose – it doubles as a breeding sanctuary for the endangered Hawaiian green sea turtles (honu). We're very proud that, to date, more than 2,200 hatchlings have been produced, and many have been released back to local populations, replenishing stocks and helping to solidify the species' presence.
During your visit you can discover how, as part of our ongoing program, we have partnered with accredited facilities and experts in the field, adding to our understanding of these beautiful creatures. Session times are 11:00am, 11:35am and 1:30pm.
