Valley of the Rainbows Oahu Small Group Adventure
First stop is Lyon Arboretum, one of the world's premier botanical gardens. The arboretum is home to many rare and endangered native Hawaiian plants, and a special area is devoted to species used by the ancient Polynesians.
You will then visit Pu'u Uala'kaa, perched above the glistening waters of Waikiki. From this lofty vantage point, where Elvis Presley had a picnic lunch in the movie Blue Hawaii, you will have breathtaking 180-degree panoramic views of Oahu's scenic south-east coastline. Perhaps you'll even see a glistening double rainbow arching across the Valley of the Rainbows far below!
Fitness Level: Easy

Our guide Greg, was a bit late picking us up, but as we drove through Wakiki and Oahu he talked about the history and various other interesting tid bits. The hike is not really a hike it is more like a walk through some of the Harold Lyon arboretum. If you like plants and flowers, you will lean a great deal from this tour and it's not too hard of a tour. The day we went, it was sunny and beautiful so we did not see any rainbows. Also, it says the guide provides rain gear, but they do not anymore. After the arboretum, he drove us to a view point on top of Mt. Tanatulus, which allows you to see all the way from Diamond Head to Pearl Harbor. It is a pretty spectacular view.

Hiking thru a rain forest only about 20 minutes from Waikiki. Beautiful flowers, birds, trees and awesome views. Our guide, Stan, was wonderful, providing lots of information on the flora and fauna and living on Oahu. Would repeat this tour again without hesitation and recommend it to all.
