Spend your time in port in Ocho Rios admiring the beautiful countryside and coast on horseback. You’ll be picked up from your cruise ship port and start your tour with a visit to Seville Great House and Heritage Park on Jamaica's north coast, where you can see a wealth of artifacts relating to the island’s history and culture. Then it’s time to mount your horse and visit all the places that you just learned about, riding on horseback by castles and sugar factories dating back nearly 500 years.
Learn about the culture of the Taino Indians before Columbus landed and the island was colonized under the Spanish flag. Ride through a natural wetland, shaded by almond and coconut trees, and see the excavations carried out by archaeologists, keen to uncover the history of this area.
Then it’s time to head to the beach for the real fun. Sample some local produce in a shady beach hut before stripping down to your bathing suit and riding through the Caribbean waves on horseback. It’s an experience you’ll never forget – splashing through the water on a beautiful horse. For your safety, the saddles are left on the horses, so you don't have to worry about falling off.
Your return ride takes you along the deserted beach, where herons and other waterbirds fish in the shallow waters. You'll travel through the mangroves, which hide the remains of an eighteenth century warehouse and by an ancient waterwheel which powered the old sugar mill on this former sugar plantation.
No experience is required – the ride is suitable for all skill levels. You’ll be returned to the cruise ship port in time to catch your ship and head out to your next port of call.

- Weight Limit: Passengers must not exceed 240lbs to participate in this tour
- There is no age limit on this tour, however, all children must be able to handle their own horse which will be led my an experienced guide. Children are NOT permitted to ride on the same horse as their parents. All passengers must be at least 3 ft tall to participate.
Please note: the Seville Great House will be closed from April 28th until September 1, 2011. You will spend extra time on the beach during the renovation period.
