While a long day it was quite satisfying. Never got tired of seeing palaces and shrines as each had its own unique history and visual stimulation. Guide was full of humor, insight and historical knowledge.
Yuki, our guide during the kyoto morning tour, was really good. She explained everything very well in English. The 3 stops were great except for the crowds at golden pavilion. The nara afternoon tour was also educational and we even saw cherry blossoms in full bloom at todaiji temple. KC, our guide, was really fun. A great experience to remember!
We enjoyed the tour very much. There was enough time to see the sights and then wander a bit before returning to the bus.
The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly and helped us through the train stations, which can get confusing for first time visitors to a large train station.
The busses were very modern, clean, and comfortable with an excellent driver.
Kondo San is a great guide. Informative and always smiling. Never hurried. We had a fantastic experience walking through the palaces, shrines and temples across two ancient capitals of Japan. Well maintained properties. We learned a bit about the architecture and funnily all wood structures have been rebuilt several times because of destruction by fire sometime or the other in the past. The travel officers ensured that we knew our way back at the drop off places. Very very helpful right throug the day. I lost my camera in an Osaka taxi at the start of the day. They called up the taxi company immediately, raced the taxi and manages to have my camera back! Happy memories.
This tour is long but well worth the time. We got through a lot of territory that would have been impossible to get through on your own. The guides were easy to listen to and very knowledgeable with great sense of humor. I highly recommend this tour for those who would like to experience Kyoto and Nara in one days time.
Great tour with good tour guides. Tour guides that took us from Osaka to Kyoto and back was really helpful. Guide in Kyoto was good too.
Our tour guide Mineko Miko was simply wonderful. She had such great knowledge about Kyoto and was an excellent guide. She is the reason I would recommend this tour to others as well as the fact it packs a lot into one day if you are short for time in Kyoto.
Excellent tour guide. She was enthusiastic about sites we toured and spoke good English.
A beautiful day and great tour.
amazing set of tour guides!! they were so accomodating and i felt their willingness to assist us in our tour needs!
We were very happy with the tour. It started on time and ended on time. The tour guides were very well versed and knowledgeable. All in all it was a very good tour. Thank you Viator.
Hi the tour was excellent the temples in kioto and the shrines in osaka we took lots of photos and the memories will remain with us forever.
This tour was excellent, and covers all aspects in the 11 hours. The guide was excellent and was very informative and caring of all passengers. He was of great assistance which was a huge bonus as we were able to ask many questions and further understand the culture of Kyoto and Nara. A wonderful tour for anyone wishing to see Kyoto and Nara in a day. Thank you Viator I would choose your tours again.
The tour was amazing but it could not go any better with the fun and informative guides I thank and commend all of them. Special thanks go to Ms. Noriko Yamaguchi who went out of her way to come with me to the JR office and help me book shinkansen tickets for Hiroshima and gave me booklets.
Fantastic day everything went great and the highlight was the
friendly deer in the streets
It was my 1st viator tour/trip to osaka! Myself and mum truly enjoyed this 1 day kyoto/nara tour. The Eng guide was professional and informative. The only neg feedback is the pickup guide - she is friendly and helpful but she walks too fast! Should be mindful if there is oldie in the tour.
The tour was exceptionally well planned. The tour overview says that the guide will collect particpants from their respective hotel, but the reaility is that you have to get to the Granvia hotel. We had two guides: one for the morning and one for the afternoon. The one in the afternoon was a little difficult to understand at times; their knowledge was excellent and very engaging in their style. The pace was brisk, but I never felt rushed and it's great when points of interest are identified and an insightful commentary given. The return trip was largely on the subway and required a change of line which is a bit daunting because most of the signs are in japanese. However, the guides were excellent and went above and beyond to ensure that the group stayed together and even escorted me to the right exit in Osaka station. I have no hestitation recommending this tour to anyone. Overall, excellent and great value for money when you consider that the cost of train tickets (apart from the final leg of the subway journey wich cost JPY240), coaches and entrance to the sites.
