Great way to spend a few hours. The Ottawa River tour is the one to take as you see a lot of the canal from the bus tour anyway.
A lot of stairs up and down to the water but the Captain called a taxi to pick us up at the dock in Hull as I have emphysema. Four star service I'd say. Take the longer river tour as the boat is nicer than the other company's.

Excellent trip - saw everything you would want to see. Great to be able to get off and then back on. When purchasing on internet I didn't realise it was valid for my stay - not just one day. Perfect
I only had one day for this as I came from Montreal and had to return there in the evening. You need at least 2 full days. Still I enjoed both especially the cruise. Lot of walking. Have good shoes and good weather. I had.
Tour bus showed up right on time. People were very approachable and helpful with answering questions. Tour guides did an excellent job of introducing the city of Ottawa. Overall, a superb way of getting around in a strange city and making the most of your time!!!!!

It was our first time visiting Ottawa, and the tour bus guide was very knowledgeable about the various attractions. The river tour was also very good. My friends and I considered this tour very good value for money!
The tour and cruise were an excellent overview of Ottawa. The guides described all the sights and provided a historical perspective. Hop-on Hop-off is a very convenient way to see everything.

Very professional and quite thorough. Gives you the freedom to hop on and hop off which is great. Contrary to common belief the buses do come around on time so you can get the hop on and hop off experience. The boat ride on the river is excellent. Don't forget to do the free parliament tour after this cruise.
The day was perfect, a little too warm but still great. Tours were neat, clean and well narrated. A definite plus to a great stay.
Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, the sites were great. The only problem is that the buses never ran on time, so they need to look at revising their time schedules and to allow more time. As the whole trip was suppose to take an hour and a half, but it was more like 2 hours or more. Because of this, if you got off at one of the stops and returned to get picked up when the schedule said you should, you usually ended up waiting over 20 minutes for a bus to show up.
I thoroughly enjoyed the land trip seeing the various sights. Unfortunately, weather forced the cancellation of the boat trip when I was going to go. I was leaving so had to pass on my ticket for the boat portion to another person. I most often come to Ottawa with my husband in the late fall or winter, so we enjoyed seeing the city and experiencing a tour which, of course, is not available in the off seasons at this beautiful time of the year. I would recommend it to friends.
