Only 15 minutes from Panama City (by plane) lies one of the most important islands in Archipelago Las Perlas (Pearl Islands). It is a sanctuary for marine birds such as the pelican, and there are also beautiful beaches and lush vegetation. The island group was named after an ancient tale that tells of pearls that were found along its coasts.
