This is a great way to see many sites without the hassle of arranging travel and hotels. And best of all, Florence, our guide was both knowledgeable and entertaining. Everything was well planned and although we all would have enjoyed more time at each location, that's not possible when you want to see so many places in only 3 days. There wasn't any stop on this tour we didn't love!
Definitely recommend this tour. Much easier taking this tour to get to the places you want to see than by driving and stressing about parking, roads, and hotels. The trip will well worth the value and the tour guides were also fantastic, knowledgable and had everything organized flawlessly. The only negative is that you feel like you could spend more time in each place, but really that is probably true of most everywhere you go. It would be great if the tour could work out the 2nd day drop off for those only taking the two day tour a little better - you leave Mont St. Michel, travel to St. Malo, and then return to Mont. St. Michel before going to Angers for the night. Seemed like a lot of extra travel and time lost for those going on the 3 day or 4 day tour. Regardless, the tour is still worth this slight inconvenience.
This tour is a wonderful way of seeing the countryside surrounding Paris. I loved each day of this tour. The first day is Normandy- Rouen, Honfleur, and the D-day beaches. The second day is San Mont Michel and San Malo. The third day is the Loire valley. The tour guide was awesome and the towns are so gorgeous. My only warning with this, however, is that it is a pretty hardcore tour- expect to wake up early everyday and go until late. We had wake up calls at 6:15/6:30, and weren't done with dinner until 9/9:30 at night. Dinner isn't served until 8/8:30 in the evening, so buy some snacks in-between lunch and dinner. Also, be sure to bring an umbrella- it rains often in these regions.
This was an wonderful excursion into the French countryside to see things outside Paris. We learned lots of history about the areas we visited from our tour guides. Our tour guide was acceptional and really contributed to our enjoyment on this trip. She was available to answer our questions. There were so many things to see along the way and at the many stops we took. The hotels were clean and comfortable and the meals provided as part of the tour were well prepared and delicious. We have many good memories from this trip and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to relax and have a qualified person do the driving for you.
This was a highlight. Being an American and standing in the same location that our troops finally landed on was an overwhelming experience.
The cemetery was amazing and so well cared for. Their was a great museum with artifacts. St. Michele was a true sight. the small towns such as my favorite of Honfluer were delightful. I recommend anyone visiting France to do this tour.
Initially,I was only interested in this tour, so that I could see the D-Day sites and Mont St. Michel. It turned out to be so much more than that. The French country side and Normandy villages that we visited during the tour were charming and interesting, and made us feel that we had experienced much more in France, than just Paris. The guides ( Adrien)were excellent, the hotels were very good, and the itinerary was very well planned and executed. Thank you!
This 3-day trip was the perfect way to cover this much territory in a relaxing way. Our guide was wonderful - very informative about the history of each location. I would recommend it as a way to see the countryside without the hassle of renting a car.
I took at least 5 tours in France and England and this one was the best. Firstly, the bus was comfortable and not crowded. The guides were good and organized. The things we saw were AWESOME. Skip Paris and go beyond the big city. We took our huge bus through tiny little mid-evil villages, saw awesome, awesome castles, forts, amazing cathedrals. The American WWII museum made me cry. The itinerary was GREAT. The hotels were nicer than in Paris. Nothing fancy but they worked great for our family of three. The food was surprisingly good. I have been on tours before so I expected sparse bland food and the food was enjoyable. My 5 year old went with us and even though it was history overload she enjoyed the walking, then resting in the bus and then seeing the villages. We of course made the history fun for her. Castle and Langeas had a super cool treehouse she loved. I LOVED the places we visited, this was exactly what I wanted to experience, life as it used to be. Get out of Paris!!!
Not a bad tour, but very rushed at times. Day one we spent a great deal of time "at leisure" in Rouen and Honfleur only to be rushed through Normandy. Ten minutes at Omaha Beach, less than an hour at the American Cemetery and Museum and five minutes overlooking the mulberries at Gold Beach; we also passed two museums that looked like they could have been interesting- at least I know where they are now. The second day at Mont Saint-Michel and Saint Malo was a bit more balanced and time was adequate to give both a good looking over. Day three was a nice morning drive, the Chateau Langeais and lunch in Amboise. Chateau Chenonceau was a bit more rushed, but the time was reasonably adequate (except for the late return of one of the passengers that put us about 20 minutes behind- he just made the bus as we were *finally* pulling away, darn!). As a result, the stop at Chateau Chambord was pretty rushed as we got there just in time for closing. Again, overall not a bad tour. But, if you see Normandy as the first word in the title and think you're spending a lot of time with D-Day touring an spending time at the beaches, it's not so; take a different tour.
This tour was comprehensive, educational and enjoyable. The tour guide (Florence) for our first two days was excellent. We were disappointed with the final day of the tour in Loire Valley after we changed buses and tour guides.
Florence was spectacular - the way she told stories made me feel like I was in 7th grade again and she was so knowledgeable about everything there was to see. She was fabulous at keeping the group together and on time. I could probably do without going to St Malo and spend more time at Mont St Michel, but overall everything was fabulous. The second tour guide for the half day of chateaux country was awful and I could not wait to get away from her.
Florence was a wonderful guide and illuminated each sight for us with loads of interesting background and facts. She had a great sense or humor. Unfortunately, because of the US government shut down, we did not get to visit the cemetery, but we did enjoy each of our other stops. The hotels we stayed in were nice; we really liked the Novotel and the Mercure was a little less comfortable. The meals that were provided were good. We loved visiting Mont St.-Michel; it was a highlight of our 3-day trip.
