Such a special night for us!!! The grounds and the chateau are absolutely stunning!! We enjoyed the dinner. The staff at the dining room were very helpful and friendly and gave very good service. The night of our visit the weather was very wet and breezy, so we were not able to really walk around the grounds as much as we would have liked to. When we first saw all the candlelight throughout the gardens and the chateau it was rather breathtaking!!! The palace tour was very informative and helped us to appreciate the history of the building and the people that lived there. All very interesting!!! The fireworks were wonderful, a great way to end the evening. Our tour guide was great and seemed as excited as we were to spend the evening at the Vaux-le-Vicomte. We did appreciate the dropoff at our hotel at such a late time at night. I would highly recommend that others should enjoy this magical night!!!!
A perfect evening! Helpful driver/guide to a magnificent spot. The fireworks over the beautiful landscape with full moon in cloudless sky capped off the night.
Very special tour. The evening was magical! I highly recommend for adults. I went with my aunt which was very nice but I think it's also a perfect tour for honeymooners.
This was just a Beautiful all round experience, we will never foget this evening, great food, great Palace, finished off with beautiful fireworks in the garden, the perfect date night.
Once in a lifetime not to be missied experience. The 2000 candles are something you can't see anywhere else and they had fireworks before we left which were grand. There were two couples in the van with us one of whom flew in from NYC for a long weekend just to come to this ..can't wait to go back better then the inside of Versailles we both thoight
Really pleasant and relaxing tour, good meal and beautiful fireworks show afterwards.
Magical evening, pick up was on time and dinner was good quality. Plenty of time to explore the house and garden which were both stunning. Would recommend warm clothing as it became very cold by the end of the evening.
Picked up nicely at hotel in van with only 6 other people, taken directly to site, nice three course dinner with of course wine, then taken to tour of Palace, bypassed long lines and entered nicely and spent enjoyable time in the castle instead of waiting in long lines outside. Should make note not handicapped accessible, but the steps were not enough to stop my wife. At the end after the fireworks, taken back to the hotel. Nice.
The tour was to celebrate a pre 'Mother's Day' dinner for my mother. She absolutely loved the dinner, Vaux le Vicomte palace its history and in particular, the fireworks.
It was an unforgettable eve! So romantic and relaxing. It was worth every penny!
This tour is a must see. This was a very good evening. Seeing Vaux-le-Vicomte and the gardens in candlelight was a delight.
Nice trip to VAUX-Le Vicomte. The dinner was nice and included wine. The time allowed for the tour felt a bit rushed but with the long ride from Paris it would be difficult to make it longer. The palace is beautiful and the candles made it a special evening. The fireworks were very nice although i was disappointed you could not hear classical music which would have enhanced it, tThere was music but you could only hear it off in the distance.) Think they need bigger speakers. Our driver was very helpful and dropped us off close to our hotel when we returned which was after midnight.
Beautiful chateau and grounds. The dinner was good but the service was very slow. Fireworks at the far end of the grounds conclude the evening.
Thoroughly enjoyed this evening. Selected option to meet coach at agency, no issues here. Easy to find and was prompt arriving. The Chateau itself is amazing and lovely to walk round. Shown to carriage museum first before dinner. Dinner was lovely. We had a table for two to ourselves but most of the others were grouped together in tables for 4-6 etc. Was a set meal with a foie gras terrine to start, chicken and mash main and a pistachio ice cream for dessert and coffee to end. The waiting staff were nice and helpful. We were in a private room so did not sit with regular customers in restaurant (note the chateau is still open to public at this time so there will be regular tourists around). After dinner is the tour of the Palace. Given audio-set so can tour at own pace. Afterwards made our way to garden for fireworks display around 10.50pm. Music is playing in the gardens and candles are lit everywhere. The Palace looks spectacular lit up at night.
My only main criticism would be that the guide told us all that we would not be dropped off at the pick up point but there would be 3 stops and asked us where we were staying so that he could advise where we should get off. It turned out that the metro station we were left at was closed for renovations and we had to navigate our way around the city to try and find another station to get us to that stop and then onto the correct line to get to our hotel. I just felt that if the guide is making the decision where to drop us the agency should check prior to ensure the stations are running. It was an arduous task navigating our way around the city at 1am in the morning especially when the city was heaving due to rioters out celebrating the Summer Solstice and it was difficult to move freely around.
We were picked up at our hotel on time by a wonderful and informative guide. We were so lucky to be with a small and friendly group of people from all over the world. The castle And grounds are wondrous. Only negative was the dinner. The setting was awesome but the good was not.
Lovely evening. Driver was helpful. Grounds were beautiful. Fireworks were beautiful. The meal was nice even though at first the caterers were confused as to who we were and where we were sitting. But overall a really nice evening except for the hand held tour guides. Gosh I hate those things!
A fabulous castle and evening experience. Thanks to the family who keeps the structure and grounds in such beautiful condition. The audio guide was terrific. Dinner was just ok so I think it would be possible to do this tour on one's own if the information was available regarding the saturday night fireworks shows. It would be much less expensive. Also, a dress code should indicate cobblestones and gravel underfoot. Good shoes are trashed so if a guest is thinking of dressing up for a dinner inside a castle, they are mistaken. Better to wear hiking boots.
Beautiful place. My biggest complaint is that our driver was late picking us up and so we did not have time to walk through the lovely gardens. That was really a bummer!!!!!
Very Good. Enjoyed this tour. We really felt we should have had more time to fully experience this venue - we ran a little tight to a timescale. We arrived just in time to have a quick look at the carriage exhibit or stroll the garden, but not both which is what you pay to do to get your full worth of the trip - the dinner was very good and the ambience was splendid. Touring the chateau at night was a nice idea but it was a bit dark and could have done with some feature lighting as well as the candles.
What I enjoyed about this tour is the company picks you up at your hotel, transfers you to a comfortable bus that takes you to the Vaux-le-Vicomte. Our tour guide was great and was with us the entire time. The Vaux-le-Vicomte itself is lovely and the dinner was great. However, it was not the same that was listed on the description. The tour description had me prepared for something different and my expectations were set pretty high. The thing says dress is formal. Ladies do not wear your nice heels as you will be walking on gravel the entire time there; it was to the point I did not even want to walk through the beautiful garden. We were the most dressed up people. Dinner was outside and they seat you with other tourist that went the do it yourself route. If I would have not read the tour description on the website I would have been very pleased with the tour but then again I am sure this could have been a do it yourself, I just enjoyed not having to plan or worry about transportation. Overall great food!!
What an amazing place! Beats dealing with the crowds and rushed viewing of the Palace of Versailles. The candlelight makes it even more spectacular. Next time we'll make sure we're there for the fireworks too. Just a pity the fireworks aren't every Saturday night.
A very nice evening. If you are planning on going here and Versailles in the same trip go here first. Otherwise you will be disappointed. It was not overly crowded which was nice. They are rennovating the palace right now so there is plastic sheeting on parts of it, but it was quiet and romantic evening. The food was ok, if you are going for the food you will be disappointed. My steak was good, but my husband's fish was a disappointment. They are understaffed at the dinner so we waited a long time. Though we were outside so the view from the terrace was pretty as the candles were lit. The candlelight tour was very good and it was nice not being surrounded by large crowds. A nice evening overall and our guide Bernard was very good.
Driver-host was competent and friendly. Building and grounds were impressive. Dinner was quite good, except that the wines were of less quality than expected for the 350th anniversary; however, this is not to say that the wines were bad or not good. That would not be the case. In keeping with being true to the era of the Chateau, the lighting inside was somewhat dim, ergo, viewing the art objects at night was not condusive to complete enjoyment; it is better, perhaps, to view the interior of the Chateau in the daytime. Everyone who was connected with the place was friendly and competent. The place really wows one.
