Great day tour to see the countryside in France. Excellent tour guide.
Auvers sur oise and van gogh's life history is all very touching. The information shared by the guide is nice. The lunch is in a very beautiful location by a river with a little water mill. Monet's garden is undescribably beautiful. A must go!!!
Pablo our guide deserves 5 stars! He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. I loved every bit of Auvers-sur-Oise, and would have liked to stay on for a while longer for the market. The girl who showed us Van Gogh's bedroom was very boring and deadpan - she obviously didn't care a hoot. However, that's not Viator's fault and Pablo made up for it.
The lunch was utterly fabulous. Our little group of four had our own outdoor table, great service, and lovely food, in that dielightful garden.
Giverney was so overcrowded! The watergarden was worth it anyway, but I couldn't stand the house tour - visitors crammed into the narrow stairs and so stuffy. I had to fight my way out! well - I did go in summer, I suppose. ha ha! My friend braved the crush and said it was worth it.
This was a wonderful day trip Our tour guide spoke to us while driving about Van Gogh and as we got closer to Giverney she switched to Monet. She spoke very good English and was very informative. We had to wait past our designated time for her to arrive. We called to find out when she would arrive and were assured that she was on her way. It became clear that we were the last people to be picked up and that the Paris traffic was bad that morning but if she had called our hotel to give us a rough idea of when she would be picking us up we would have been less anxious.
Again my friend and I were asked to sit apart so that the married couples could sit together. The trip wasn't too long and the guide talked to us most of the time so it wasn't too bad but it would have been nice to for us to talk to each other during the trip since we paid the same as the couples/
Highlight of our week in Paris. Added to my appreciation of the works of Monet and Van Gogh so that subsequent trips to Museums were enhanced. We had lots of time in each place and the guided tour of Auvers was particularly helpful. We would have missed a lot if we had tried to do this ourselves.

We really enjoyed the tour and were so pleased that you had it on May 1, when so many other attractions in and around Paris were closed. A surprise on the tour was how good the lunch was at the Moulin stop.
It was difficult to contact someone to confirm the fact that they would pick us up at our hotel. We were flying in from US 24 hours prior to the trip, and got to our hotel late at night.
The actual trip was fantastic!
Very nice trip with a fabulous lunch. Very funny guide. We all enjoyed the excursion.
This trip was outstanding- well worth the price! It was a smaller group tour of 8 people and our guide Herbert was excellent, both in his knowledge of Monet and Vincent Van Gogh, but also taking us through the backways of Giverney and Auvers sur Oise to see the countryside and how Van Gogh and Monet really did live. Viators is the best- they have access to getting you into these two locations before the crowds hit and they know how to navigate through both locations- having us go to Monet's gardens first was very smart, as the large tour groups go to the house first. We virtually had the gardens to ourselves. This was the second tour we took with Viator when we were in Paris.
This is a must trip for any lover of Impressionist and Post Impressionist Art!
An enjoyable experience and it was great to do the trip with a small group.\
Loved the trip. Giverney was beautiful but walking through the field at Auvers sur Oise to van Gogh's grave was just so moving. The guide was excellent and there was just the right amount of 'guiding' and free time. I took my sister who was ambivalent about going and it was the highlight of her trip.
It was lovely. I would have liked more guiding at Giverny. That was why we signed up. The guide was great and very flexible. A 3rd friend booked the same trip separately and was assigned to another van. They were able to switch our itinerary to meet her at Giverny
We had a wonderful time on a very cold and rainy day. Laura, our guide, was great and accommodating, and a careful driver. She knew her history of Van Gogh and Monet and entertained us with lots of stories. I would recommend the day trip to anyone. Especially since we didn't have to drive in Paris!
