This day trip was one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. Highly recommend
We had a wonderful time! The driver was excellent. Only wish we had more time at the garden!
We had a wonderful time on this special trip to Giverny. Pamela, our guide, was a great driver and was able to share bits of information about Monet and French culture with us during our time together. She did a terrific job. Getting picked up at the hotel and dropped off was prompt and easy. Even though the clear sky in Paris turned into a rainy one in Giverny, we found the destination to be absolutely lovely. We were also extremely lucky that it was not crowded while we were there at the end of October. This trip was well worth the money spent.
Four of us took your wonderful tour to Monet's garden in Giverny. Our driver and tour guide was very knowledgeable and took us through the beautiful countryside around Giverny with gorgeous views of the Seine and the lovely villages along the route. The van had a very good sound system so it was very easy for all of us to hear the interesting information our guide provided throughout the trip. We were given plenty of time to explore the garden and the house and also the lovely museum just down the road. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Fantastic tour, fantastic tour guide, fantastic Giverny. Take some peaceful time near the noisy Paris!!
An excellent afternoon that we won't forget. The driver was punctual and friendly. The transport was comfortable and we were given a thorough look at the area by a well-informed driver. Highly recommended.
The driver picked us up on time and we had an enjoyable drive to Giverny with the driver sharing his vast knowledge of Monet, his family and other impressionists. The garden was everything we hoped it would be. A particular. Surprise was the museum. We weren't particular bothered about it but went in as we had time and really enjoyed the paintings there
Giverny is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and we had a beautiful afternoon exploring house and garden, as well as complimentary tickets to a nearby museum. We were picked up at our hotel, and dropped off afterward, which was WONDERFUL, and our driver acted as something of a tour guide, pointing out places of interest with bits of history in an engagingly cheerful way. All of us thorougly enjoyed the afternoon.
What a wonderful drive through the country-side to Giverny; a great way to spent an afternoon outside of Paris. David, the Tour Guide was very informative, enjoyable to listen to and made the trip memorable. The gardens were beautiful and wonderful that the estate is kept so well, for all to see. It is also worthwhile spending time at the museum, which we did. Unfortunately, we did not have time to sample some of the Apple Tart at the local cafe, maybe next time.
The small group, is the very best. Our driver was very well informed about any thing you could ask him , also a bit of a comedian, which made it even better. A five star plus tour.
This half day tour is a must do for any Monet fans. We had an excellent driver/tour guide, Max, he went out of his way to show us extra villages and historical monuments, with an interesting dialogue, on the way back to Paris. Monet's garden and house did not disappoint, although it was late summer and past it's best, it was still a very lovely garden. This tour was one of the highlights of our 5 day Paris holiday.
This tour was good value for money with only 8 of us on the small mini bus which included a pick-up and drop-off at each of our 4 hotels - whilst you could do this cheaper yourself, you have the inconvenience of the metro, train and taxi to get to Giverney and you also miss out on the knowledge of the guide on the drive. On the way we took the slightly slower route through a number of very pretty towns and our guide Frederick pointed out other Monet related facts. It was absolutely baking in Paris but Giverney was much cooler and the rain held off. We had 2 hours to explore the gardens, house and museum which was plenty of time (although we didn't bother with the museum, preferring an ice-cream and glass of wine). The gardens were beautiful and we saw the waterlillies which was the main reason for visiting in July - the gardens weren't too busy and there were plenty of photo opportunities. The house only took about 10 minutes as we weren't too interested in the Japanese prints that were displayed. Our guide Frederick was very knowledgeable and left us to our own devices whilst we explored the gardens and house.
Small group tour is the way to visit Giverny and Monet's Garden. Driver/guide was very informative and the garden is a must to see as part of your Paris experience.
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Paris. Our guide Danielle completely exceeded our expectations. She had so much information to share not only about Monet's gardens, but about his personal life and his art, which created a thoroughly complete portrait of the man, enriching our experience of his gardens. We were warmly and enthusiastically greeted when she picked us up from our hotel. On the drive she even gave us history and architecture lessons as we drove through Paris, with information my friend who had lived in Paris did not even know! She talked and answered questions on the drive to Giverny, and once we were there she left us alone to walk through the gardens and take it all in. I thought this was the best short day trip to Giverny, it was the perfect amount of time to spend in Monet's gardens. I don't think I would have wanted to spend the entire day here.
Danielle was a wonderful and friendly guide and we wished we could have her with us during our entire trip. We felt extremely lucky and it was worth every penny.
