It was a wonderful day, all planning taken care for us, no worries. Frederic was great and incredibly knowledgeable about the history. Lunch was amazing and the garden at Giverny beautiful. It was one of the best days in our 3 week trip, well worth it.
It was wonderful to be picked up from our hotel and having only a small group of 8 meant it was much more comfortable . We had plenty of time at Monet's Garden which for me was the number 1 reason for doing this tour. Our driver/ guide was great . Lunch was delicious in a beautiful setting. The afternoon in Versailles was good with only just enough time to see the Palace and some of the gardens as they are huge. Well worth doing this trip as you now will feel part of Monet's paintings!
Fabulous! A dream come true to walk Monets gardens... I could have spent a whole day there.
Versailles was longer than I expected. Tour guide was great
Our guide (Natasha) picked us up on time and was so friendly. She spoke perfect English. As we drove to our destinations, she talked constantly all about France, the history, the people. She knew so much!
I felt very comfortable with her driving as well. We had plenty of time for wandering around each place and Natasha's tips were very, very helpful. Lunch was very nice and at such a pleasant venue. We chose to enjoy our meal outside (the weather was perfect) and the service was very good.
We were exhausted at the end of the tour (yeah...no stamina), our cameras were full of pictures and our minds full of the things we learned and saw. Thank you Natasha. :)
Expensive but worth it! The small group made it relaxing, our guide was excellent and drove through the town where Monet originally lived as he told us Monet's life story. Monet's home and garden were delightful. We had a delicious lunch outside in the country, then on to Versailles, beautiful.
Our guide Julien was very personable and gave us all a lot of information along with some humor. The trip was more than we thought it would be, it was just wonderful! The lunch was outstanding, all three courses were exceptional. We loved touring the French countryside to Giverny, beautiful! Connie USA
Loved Monet Gardens and the fountain display at Versailles was excellent along with our tour guide Fred
Brilliant day, small group and a great guide. We were looked after all day and all aspects were lovely - the lunch was sensational and the day flowed beautifully, with enough time at each place. I thoroughly recommend this tour.
Excellent tour! Monet's garden and Versaille were both wonderful. We were impressed by how many rooms of Versaille are open for viewing. Our tour guide, also drove us through delightful villages of France while telling us the history of the area. The lunch was delicious in a charming setting.
Our guide was knowledgable and had a great sense of humor. He got us ahead of the lines and made the day flow smoothly. Lunch was very nice and it worked out well seeing both Giverny and Versailles in 1 day. I enjoyed the small size of our group. Viator confirmed pick up time - very professional!
The small group is an excellent idea.
Going into Versailles castle in are special entry avoiding the crazy line makes everything worth it.
Great tour of Monet's home and of the Palace if Versailles. We really enjoyed our tour guide and had a great day.
This tour was true to its description and definitely worth doing. The driver (Cecilia) was friendly, polite and professional and handled the Paris traffic with great skill. The tour gave us plenty of time at both locations and the opportunity to see the countryside outside Paris. The lunch was nice and in a fantastic setting. Whilst I was glad I saw Versailles for its huge significance in France's history, Monet's garden was the highlight for me. It was serene and exceptionally beautiful. Visiting this encouraged me to seek out his paintings at L'Orangerie and Musee d'Orsay and they were as amazing as his garden. This tour was one of the most memorable on my trip.
Very convenient way to see Giverny and Versaille. Pick up and drop off in van at hotel. Congenenial driver- guide, Magnus, who told us about the sites and there history while in transport, but did not actually take us through the sites, but made sure we were admitted and knew what to see. Giverny was a place you need to see, but a bit of a let down. had a nice lunch en route from Giverny to Versaille. Versaille was terrific. We enjoyed the gardens, more than the interiors however. A fellow tour member told us to watch Coppola's "Marie Antoinette" movie, which was filmed at Versaille, which we did that night. It helped put everything in context.
Exellent combination of activities - really appreciated the input of our driver who added a lot to the trip. A good way to get a "tourists view" of these places in a short time frame. Lunch was very good!
Our guide is so knowledgeable that my daughter call him History Professor. The place he took us to lunch is so beautiful and peaceful. We enjoy the whole trip very much.
Our guide Julian was superb from the moment he picked us up to the moment he dropped us off. He had great knowledge and nothing was any problem. The Palace od Versailles was absolutely amazing. A great way of seeing these sights - worth the extra money to do a small group tour like this
Our tour guide was amazing! Made the drive fun! Good lunch prep, giverny is amazing. Versailles was just too crowded.. But good tour overall!
Excellent tour. Limited time spent in Monets garden, just managed to get through. Had a beautiful lunch in the country, beyond expectation, wonderful. So glad we got to Versailles and truly recommend 'skip the line'is the only way to go here. Beautiful, full on day tour with a small friendly group and knowledgeable tour guide.
Christophe was an excellent guide. He was prompt in collecting us at our hotel. His driving was appropriate for the area; I felt quite comfortable with him. The line for Versailles was at least two city blocks long. What a joy to walk to the front and get in within two minutes from arrival. We were given the meeting time, a few tips for touring, and we were off. Versailles is amazing! We walked for miles (according to my pedometer) and still didn't comb the entire property in two hours. FYI, there are golf cart rentals in 30-minute increments available to drive the gardens. Next, Christophe drove us through the countryside, gave us a little history of the area, and then we arrived at the windmill restaurant. Nice atmosphere, quick service and delicious food. I'm not a dark meat chicken eater, but none of the thigh was left on my plate. Last on the list, Giverny...breathtaking. The opportunity to walk the Japanese gardens and enter the home, ahead of the crowds once again, was worth it. I can't imagine spending hours of my vacation waiting to gain entry. Very few spaces were off limits. I could see and feel where Monet's inspiration came from. Absolutely stunning!
We really enjoyed this tour. We were picked up at our hotel on schedule. There were two other families on the tour so the van was full, but comfortable. Our driver/guide was knowledgeable and energetic and spoke excellent English. On the way to each attraction she gave background history about what we were going to see so we had some orientation. Being on the tour meant that we skipped the ticket line. This was especially good at Versailles since it was very crowded. On the way from Versailles to Giverny we stopped at a lovely restaurant housed in an old mill for lunch. The food was excellent. An added benefit of this tour is that you get to see some of the French countryside and tiny villages with their ancient churches. Monet's house and gardens were delightful. The garden was in full bloom with a staggering variety of flowers. The lily ponds appear just as Monet painted them. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour.
The extra expense of the small group tour was well worth it: we were the only people who booked for that day and so it was a private tour. We had plenty of time to get excellent information from our excellent guide, Pamela, and she indulged us by giving some of the tour en Français so our daughter could practice. Lunch was very picturesque and the "back road" from Giverny to Versailles allowed for a drive through sn area of troglodyte (cave) homes. Giverny and Versailles were very, VERY crowded. Skipping the unbelievably long line for tickets at Versailles was a priceless perk.
The tour size was perfect and our guide/driver was excellent in all respects.
The pace of the tour was good, the quality of the lunch and the location of the restaurant was a pleasant surprise.
Detours through some lovely villages was an added bonus.
