Great way to ease into our visit to PARIS after a long flight. Beautiful countryside views on the bus trip and lunch in Cheverny was awesome. Great and cheap local wines can be purchased in a cave under the Chateau, lots of time to explore and sample during your lunch break.
The bus trip was very convenient and comfortable. It took a bit to figure out we had to take our coupon into the tour office in Paris before we knew which bus we were to travel on and where to get it. The tours of the three chateaus was very thorough and gave us plenty of time to look around in spite of the crowd at each location.
Excellent tour of the three castles. Amboise was not on the original itinerary, but it turned out to be my favorite castle and the most interesting little town. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in medieval castles and European French history. It was a very long day, but definitely a worthwhile trip. Next time in France I will do more castles!
Most do it if you are in Paris!
Great guide and a very informative tour! We had a great experience
Lovely day out with the history and background of each of the chateaus. Very informative
this was a great tour with a great tour guide who was very sensitive to my wife using a cane.
It was a very long day but worth it. The trip took a total of 14 hours from beginning to end but it was the drive that took most of it. Each chateau had its own specific character and was remarkable to see. Each small village also had its own character. Our tour guide, Stephanie was excellent both for her english and her her knowledge and patience. I would strongly recommend it but recommend taking a few bottles of water and a few snacks. I would also think this tour would be very taxing for young ones to have the stamina to make it through all of it.

Prior to our family vacation, we held planning meetings to talk about the must see sights and must do things because we wanted to make the most of our 5 days in Paris. Everyone who studied French in high school had learned about Loire Valley castles and put it at the top of their list. Sandwiched between jam-packed days walking Paris, it was a welcome break to relax on an all-day bus trip between the three uniquely different castles.
Although unfurnished, the architecture of Chambord is undeniably unsurpassed by any other chateau. Chenonceau provided the most amazing backdrop for my daughters fairytale proposal, which we were honored to observe and relive during a leisurely lunch in the café on the castle grounds. And we thoroughly enjoyed learning that Chateau de Cheverny is still inhabited by descendants of the original family. An added bonus was the nearby village of Cheverny, so we eagerly zipped through the castle for some local wine tasting and quick shopping.
This trip will definitely remain as one of our most cherished memories!
I loved this tour. I enjoyed seeing the variety of the different castles. Our tour guide did a great job explaining the history, as well.
Suggestions: The description should let us know ahead of time that the time travel to get there is about 3 hours each way.
The tour was exactly what I had expected. I didn't feel rushed, I saw what I wanted to see, and overall, it was a relaxing day! I've done several trips with Viator and they have all been great!
Everything about the trip was good. Our guide gave the best background information...better than any history class I had. I planned this trip in order to show my 11 yr. old granddaughter how the kings lived. She loved seeing the castles.
The trip was Amboise, Chenonceau, and Chambord not Cheverny. This was a great tour that was a very long day well over 12 hours end to end. But we were able to hit three of the most beautiful chateaux in the country. Our tour guide was terrific and had a surprising level of knowledge of the history surrounding these locations. For the money, I don't think you could do a lot better. This was a great value. I was disappointed to see that very few on the tour tipped the guide afterwards she really did a great job.
Beautiful countryside. A varied sample of the chateaux. Very interesting and educational. Knowledgeable guides. Comfortable bus. Definitely worth the time and cost.
An outstanding experience! Saw three châteaus with an excellent English-speaking tour guide. I highly recommend this tour.
The day trip was great. Comfy bus, great driver and tour guides. Very informative. The only downside was the business of Cheverny. Extremely crowded therefore hard to move about or see anything inside...outside was beautiful and easy to navigate. Yes, we would go again. Allot of walking and stairs.
Excellent from start to finish. Two guides, Stephanie and Sophie, who took the English speakers and the Italian/Spanish speakers respectively. Headsets earphones meant that we could always hear our guide clearly. The group was a decent size but not too big. I liked that we had free time everywhere, but would have liked a touch more at Chenonceau and Chambord we had a lot more at Amboise, which was substituted in place of Cheverny for the day that we went.
The chateaux are absolutely stunning and you won't regret seeing them! This also from a comfy and air-conditioned necessary when we went! bus will make it a day to remember. The Loire Valley is just stunning!
This was the best guided tour we have taken in Europe so far. The tour guides were excellent 3 of them, speaking in different languages. They accompanied their groups in the castles and gave great commentary. There was adequate time. BIG tip: take the Saturday tour check the details when they visit Amboise instead of Cheverny. Amboise is quite fascinating and scenic and includes the grave of Leonardo da Vinci. The town of Amboise is also extremely picturesque with a lovely river-side park which is a great place to have a short picnic lunch. This tour is expensive, but it was outstanding and especially on the Saturday schedule of Amboise-Chenonceaux-Chambord. C 'est magnifique!
