lunch was so-so, but that's a personal opinion. the guide and the tour is great. We really liked the receivers, can hear the guide even if you're not at the front of the group.

A very long, but worthwhile trip. The guide spent a lot of time on details while we were on the bus (4 hours). When we arrived, the guide was very accomodating and pointed out toilets which were appreciated.

This trip was fantastic. Our guide was wonderful: she spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable about the history of St. Michel. She also was very encouraging to me when I thought I couldn't make it to the top.
I was a little disappointed in the "medieval village" as it was described in travel sites because it was basically a lot of tourist shops rather than a village where people live and work. This trip was also enjoyable because one sees a lot of the Normandy countryside on the way to St. Michel and back.

Excellent tour. The guides were very informative and helpful. Everything was well organised. It is a long day. We left at about 7 am and returned to Paris after 9.30 pm. The Abbey is outstanding. Be prepared for many, many steps up to the top.

Just right. As far as guided tours go, the information was enough, but not overload. The time to explore after the tour was appropriate to check out whatever else interested you, but didn't leave you waiting to leave. Personally, I had free bus and heavily discounted train usage with my Eurail Pass and still felt that the transportation included tour along with a nice lunch was worth the value. St. Michel is a uniquely located Castle worth a day visit, but I personally would rather be back in Paris the same day as a opposed to spending the night there. I think this day trip is an excellent oppertunity to see this amazing setting without the hassle of trying do it all on your own or wasting 2-3 days of vaction wearing yourself out doing what this trips accomplishes in one at a lower stress level.

Wonderful tour, highly recommended. It was an awesome experience to approach the island and enter the village of Mont St. Michel. The monastery was awesome. The guide (I didn't get her name) was very good. Only thing is that the battery on her speaker died so we missed some of her commentary. This was rectified shortly. A long trip but worth every Euro.

I actually loved this trip! Even though, I have to mention that on our way to the Mont, our bus (which was a double decker) broke down on the highway in the middle of nowhere and all 62 of us had to wait for another bus to come and continue the trip. It was quite the adventure. It was about a two hour wait but I passed the time counting the cows. Seeing the Mont totally made up for everything. It is beautiful on the inside as well as the outside - very rustic. The shopping street is so cute! You can easily spend a whole day there. A wonderful trip and totally recommended!

I would recommend this tour! Mont St Michel itself is as magnificent as you imagine it to be, the tour is well organized and the employees are friendly and knowledgeable.

After spending around 5 hours on a bus to get there, my first sighting of Mont Saint Michel was just breathtaking.. it's like something out of a fairytale.. Before going up to the Mont, you have lunch at a very nice place in the local village. I had the fluffiest, yummiest omeletted I've ever had.. After lunch you then jump on a shuttle bus that takes you almost to the base of the Mont and you walk a little way from there. It's quite a hike up to the top of the Abbey with a reasonably steep cobblestone climb at first and then loads of stairs but well worth it. The shops in the village are all pretty tacky, standard souvenir places but there were some half decent stuff amongst the rubbish. There's some great places to get good crepes and omelettes and my daughter went nuts for the churros. After an exhausting but fun day, most of us fell asleep on the 5 hour bus trip home. I should also mention that being such a long bus trip, the bus does have a bathroom stop at a gas station there and back.

The tour guide was excellent. The tour bus was very nice and comfortable. The lunch was a bit rushed, the restaurant was not staffed to handle the crowd when we arrived. It was worth the wait because our tour guide was so good taking us though the Monastery. For a second trip I would suggest forgoing the lunch because there are plenty of restaurants at the Mont and recored tour available at the entrance. The lunch was the local Omelet and salmon, if you don't like these go for the option without the lunch.
