My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Normandy. Our guide (Amelie) was so knowledgeable and friendly. The lunch provided at the Caen War Memorial was very good. My personal highlight was the visit to Pont du Hoc. Incredible to be able to stand where US Rangers scaled the cliffs and to see German batteries/bunkers and bomb craters. The tour bus was very comfortable. The only drawback to the day was beyond Viator's control - because of the US Federal Government shutdown, the American Cemetary was closed. However, Viator added an additional stop at Ammaranches to help make up for it. Overall, a very good experience and one that I highly recommend.
This was another great tour, we booked last minute and used Viatour for all of our sightseeing. We were very happy with the guides and this bus tour was no exception.
Words cannot describe how AMAZING this trip was. My only regret is that i didn't book 3-4 days to tour the area. SO much history and so many museums and sights to see. If you do not have much time than this is perfect! The Tour guide was great the lunch was Fabulous. I walked around with so much more respect for what our troops did and sacrificed for our freedom. This was the highlight of my trip! Book your trip today, you will not regret it.
We took the Small group tour and loved it! Our tour guide was excellent! It was a rainy day which somehow seemed appropriate. Fortunately the American cemetery was reopened for our visit. Lunch was wonderful. An all around great day.
Our tour guide was exceptional and very knowledgeable. Even though it was a long ride from Paris, it was worth every minute. A lot of history to be seen and experienced.
Visitor - awesome and well organized as ever. The best thing I like is the way they ensure the tour stays on schedule.
The Normandy tour is well worth the price and is an in depth look at the harsh realities of war.
This is our 3 rd tour with Viator and we have never been disappointed.
Long day, but you see and experience so much. Guides were knowledgeable and share a lot of extra points. Lunch is provided, but bring some snacks.
My father was in Normandy on D-day. It was interesting to imagine to see what he saw on that day.
Wonderful, beautiful and very informative. Loved our tour. Could spend more time at each stop but there's just not enough time in the day.
The tour was great and the tour guide was very good, with a lot of information. The only thing that I feel could use some work is in the checking in at the office. There were several tours going off the same day, the line was long and no one seemed to know what the protocol was for checking in for their tour. I think that the office staff was a little overwhelmed. It might help if signs were posted for the individual tours, so that the people signed up for their particular tours were not intermingled with the masses.
My husband and I enjoyed the tour and appreciated the knowledge of the tour guide. We were able to see the countryside, a few towns other than Paris and several small villages, in addition to the Normandy sites. The museum was interesting and served a very good lunch. We loved seeing Omaha beach, the German cemetery ( just a drive by but still important to see), the villages, other beaches and the American cemetery- a beautiful memorial and a moving experience. I recommend the tour to anyone staying in Paris who wants to see Normandy.
This trip was really long and it takes all day (about 7 am to 9 pm by the time you get back to Paris) however, every minute is worth it! The lunch was really good and the guide was really nice. You a small amount of time per beach you visit but because you see so much on this trip. Bring snacks because on the way back you to Paris you will be hungry.
We decided to take this tour because we are both very interested in WWII. We were both very pleased with the whole tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgable making the trip even more interesting. The WWII Museum in Caen is a must see and this tour includes this museum. Walking thru the American Cemetery was an emotional experience. Touching the sands of Omaha Beach another highlight . The included lunch was very good. I highly recommend this tour. It is a long day, but very much worth it
This was a very interesting tour. The trip is about 3 hours each way but the bus is comfortable and the tour guides provide interesting commentary on the sights and history including a souvenir D-Day booklet. The museum at Caen is very good and the tour included a great lunch there. The guides are knowledgable, efficient and friendly. The stops at Point d'Hoc, Omaha and Juno landing sites were very interesting and the visit to the US cemetery was poignant. Anyone interested in this epic historical event should take this tour. The only glitch was the stop on the way back to Paris coincided with 3 tour buses arriving at once which overwhelmed the convenience store's ability to serve people efficiently. However, this did not detract from a great experience. Highly recommended.
