A long but superb tour of Normandy. Everything as promised. Lovely lunch, with wine at the Museum. Very comfortable tour bus and excellent guide.
A very moving day. Our guide was very informative and although a long day, it was well worth the experience.
This trip was amazing! Ricardo was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgable about the locations and the events that took place. You could see that he was also enjoying this trip! Being able to see the American cemetery was a very sad but moving experience and the artifacts and videos in the museum were incredible. The restaurant "farmhouse" we stopped at for lunch was wonderful. We highly recommend this trip.
Great trip, you get to see amazing sights. It's pretty neat to walk Omaha Beach and go inside the German pillboxes. The cemetery is inspiring. The only negatives are you don't get to spend enough time at Omaha, and we didn't care for the way the tour guide hinted at tipping. They tell you to all exit the bus through one door (for "security reasons"). Otherwise, it was quite an experience.

Wow! This was the highlight of our trip. Our guide Ricardo, was bright, articulate and informative. We were in a Mercedes van which was comfortable and the narration made the trip out and back go quickly. It was a very moving experience. We took our 10 year old grandson and it worked out great. It is a lifetime memory for him. My compliments to Ricardo...he made the trip a wonderful experience
Our tour guide David was amazing. So full of knowledge about WWII and Normandy. It's was a great history lessons for our boys, ages 15 and 12. Loved the lunch as well! Highly recommend this tour!
Ricardo was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgable and personable. His historical commentary brought the Normandy countryside and the Operation Overlord landing sites to life for us. The lunch at the converted farmhouse was as good a meal as (and probably better than) any of the other meals we had in Europe on this trip. It was well worth the entire day that it took to take the trip there as it is very memorable! Thanks for a wonderful time!
Amazing trip! I've always been fascinated by WWII, especially D-Day. After reading and watching documentaries on the events of D-Day, it was an amazing experience to be standing on the same ground as the soldiers nearly 70 years ago. We departed from Paris around 7am and stopped in Caen to visit a WWII museum and to eat lunch. The museum was great. Definitely wish we had more time there. As an American, I have heard mostly about our involvement in the war, and didn't know a lot about France during WWII. They give you a little over an hour to get through the museum and tell you not to miss the video at the end that starts just before lunch. I would recommend spending more time in the museum as the video isn't all that great. Lunch was very good with several options, and they give each table a bottle of wine which never hurts. Then it was off to the beaches. We first stopped at Point du Hoc which you could still see all of the craters from when the Allies bombed the German positions prior to the invasion. There were also multiple German bunkers still intact that you could walk through. This was may favorite stop on the trip as it seemed to resemble what it might have been like 70 years ago more than any of the other sites. We then went to Omaha beach. This was the most disappointing stop for me as a lot of it has been paved over and there was high tide that day so you couldn't see much of the beach. Other stops included Utah beach, which was interesting to learn more about the Canadians involvement in D-Day, and the American cemetery which was quite a sobering experience. On the way out they stop at a gas station for everyone to grab something for dinner and then we arrived back in Paris around 9:00. Overall it was a great day. I've read some other reviews where people say it's a really long day, which it is, but since it stays light so late in Paris in the summer, it didn't feel that long. This is a great trip if you have limited time in France and want to visit Norm
Our guide, Christian, made the day very special. We were in a group with two other couples and the minivan was very comfortable. The time spent in Normandy was well organized and Christian enhanced our visits to various sites with expert commentary and helpful historical information. The time spent at the American cemetery was moving beyond description and was the centerpiece around which everything else was organized. We had a lovely lunch in a beautiful restaurant in a hotel located in the countryside and Christian was, again, the perfect host. Thank you for this great privilege that we will always remember with fondness and gratitude.
Would highly recommend this tour, its a must do.
Makes for a very interesting history trip...we had our 11 year old granddaughter with us...she found it interesting too.
Great bus ..yummy lunch...g\imformative tour guide.
All in all a great day out
We had a great tour of Normandy. The bus picked us up from our hotel very timely and delivered us to the larger tour bus. We left on time and the tour guide gave us wonderful details from the minute we left Paris. I believe her name was Leila or Layla. In any event, she was great. The luncheon was superb. We really enjoyed the Caen museum and could have spent longer looking it over in more detail. The stops at the beaches and the American cemetery were of sufficient length to give us time to take it all in. The drive back to Paris was pretty long due to the traffic going back to the City on Sunday evening. The only down side is the stop at the rest area for the bus driver and bathroom break. But we were prepared for this having read the reviews, and just laughed it off. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in a one day tour that can leave from Paris.
Excellent tour - very informative. Guide was very knowledgeable. Focused a bit on Canadian involvement as that is what we were most interested in. Long day but well worth it.
This 8-person mini-van tour picked us up at our hotel (delightful--did not have to go downtown and wait for a big bus)! Did a rest stop on the way to Normandy and also one on the way back. (In retrospect--I wish we had picked up a Normandy souvenier--as these were the ONLY places to get one; all "stuff" in Paris was about Paris!). Day was wonderful. Went to several beaches, and had time to go through museum (briefly) and also walk on the cemetery site at Normandy. Guide provided information about what happened in different areas, and also had pictures in an album that could be perused about what things looked like at the time. He was also very informative to answer questions we had. Lunch was deliciously wonderful at an inn. I was very happy that I wore blue jeans, a jacket lined with a zip-in fleece and had gloves in my pocket (layers); it was cold and blustery on that Normandy coast in June. That might be something to tell others about--as more than one in our group had only shorts and short sleeves only for the journey. It was OK inland, but still chilly. Overall--a great experience on this trip. I highly recommend it!
Had a good lady guide
Saw all aspects of the beaches, museum
A MUST for any American -- and those interested in history
