Professional and informative tour to Normandy and the D-Day landing beaches. Very informative and enjoyable. Great tour guide and driver. A great experience.
Although a long day, this tour was excellent and our guide, Linda, fantastic. We visited Utah Beach, the American Cemetary at Omaha Beach, and Pont du Hoc. Instead of just a fact based history, Linda provided a very human insight into what was occurring at that time. For a break in the history, we visited an apple orchard and producer of cider, calvados and liqueur, and had a lovely lunch at a seaside restaurant for some traditional Normandy fare. All in all a great day and we can thoroughly recommend this tour and Linda.
We had a great day at Normandy. A full agenda and we still had some time to sit and take in the history. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was very interesting.
The tour was great! The guides were very knowledgable and fun! We learned a lot about the details of the D-Day battle. The visit to the American cemetery was very emotional. A great tour I would highly recommend taking!
Very long trip from Paris, but I am glad we did it. It was overwhelming and very emotional. Lunch was in a lovely small town restaurant with great fish!! The guides were excellent and knew so much!!
Linda and Patrice were entertaining and informative and I would highly recommend this tour
This tour was fantastic. Our tour Guide was exceptional. His knowledge of the trip, history, and everything was beyond what I expected. I would recommend this to anyone looking to visit Normandy and the DDay battle fields. I was so impressed with our Guide and he is a great rep for your company
This was was a great tour. Our guides Linda and Julie were excellent. Perfect day
This is by far the best Viator tour we have taken. Our guide Felix was extraordinarily knowledgeable of US wartime history, and presented everything in a very professional, yet interesting way. The restaurant at lunchtime provided an excellent lunch, and the cider/Calvados tasting at the quintessential Normandy cider farm was superb. Definitely a 5 star rating!
Well worth it! Everything ran like clockwork. Our guide Linda was very knowledgeable and fun. She made the long ride a pleasure. Do wish we had more time to spend at Utah and Omaha Beaches. Never enough time to spend there. Although interesting, the cider tour could be eliminated and that time given to the beaches. The resturant we stopped at was a pleasant surprise, not expecting such a nice place that is attended by locals. Finally Viator was true to their word. When I found a cheaper price for this tour, they honored their promise and refunded the the difference. All in all, very happy.
We had Matt as our guide, he was amazing. The people we were with on the tour were not so worried about getting back to the bus on time, so that was annoying. When you are on a tour, you need to be responsible to not impact the others on your bus. Please be responsible for your children as well.
The tour itself was so educational, and emotional for me. We loved it. It was probably a "once in the lifetime" trip for us, and we are so glad we saw Normandy. The Cider Tasting and Lunch was SO fun! The food was amazing at the sea-side restaurant.
This is a fantastic tour! While the 14 hour day seems daunting, my husband and I agreed that we could easily have spent more time at each location. Our guide, Caroline, was very well versed in WWII history and did a great job sharing information and stories surrounding the landing at Normandy. The sites themselves were very moving and the museums were definitely worth seeing.
We had a fabulous lunch and the Cider tasting was a nice, lighthearted break in the middle of an otherwise emotionally charged day.
If you only have one day to spend at Normandy, I would highly recommend this tour! Be sure to brush up on your history beforehand, or even watch a couple of movies (Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers) to gain some insight into what incredible odds the men and women who served at Normandy faced in 1944.
This is a trip every person should take. It makes you appreciate what our servicemen and women did to protect our freedom. The tours are too fast though. We were not able to thoroughly see the museum or beaches. We were running from location to location. Overall it was good. I would recommend it.
The tour of the beaches/cemetery was amazing. The lunch was average. I would rather have had more time at the museum and beaches than to go to the cider drinking stop.
The tour was very good and our guide Felix knowledgable and enthusiastic. He was very pleasant toward his passengers.
The sites we visited were just what I wanted to see. Time ran too short to fully enjoy the cemetery. There wasn't time to explore the museum.
I would skip the cider tasting,
The tour was very informative on the history of D-Day. It was great to see the making of apple cider, the different products that can be made and uses for them. Lunch was fabulous, much more that expected.
Guide was excellent- A Croatian man with a history degree. I would have preferred to grab a "To Go" lunch in order to have more time at the museums, visitor centers, cemetery, etc. I can eat at seafood restaurants in Texas but cannot see D-Day Landing Beaches anywhere but France and felt rushed through experience.
It is a long day trip from Paris (even though the bus ride was comfortable) so it did feel a bit rushed at times. I would recommend staying up in the area if you want to be able to spend a lot of time at all the monuments but overall it was a really good trip. Caroline was our guide and was very good
The drive was very long and took away from the ability to adequately visit the museums. We very much enjoyed the American cemetery along with the beaches. Our American history is very important to us. These sights brought the events closer in our minds. Our soldiers fought valiantly for freedom.
