Excellent chance to cycle around the route of Tour de France. Also even if you are not interested in the cycling the opportunity to ride around Paris first thing in the morning is fantastic. Nice surprises included on the trip too.
What a fantastic opportunity to ride the finishing course of the Tour De France just hours before the pro peleton. On top of that we got to drink champagne near the Arc De Triumph and had croissants and coffee near the Eiffel tower. The staff at the tour company were considerate of others in the group that were struggling to keep up with the group.
A must do for any Tour De France enthusiast.
If you are there for this once a year experience, then do the tour. Tour people on top of everything and got groups off ahead of schedule, where possible. Had champagne at Arc after we rode around, plus coffee and croissants at end of tour. Only suggestion is that both guides not ride in front, but one in front and one at the end so that riders don't get separated.
Awesome experierience ... A tru WOW factor , very well organised and executed by fat tyre bike tours
Fabulous and memorable experience. Highlight of our stay in Paris.
Awesome experience. Friendly and well trained guides, great company. We had a blast! When I return to Paris, I will use Fat Tire again. Everything went well with reservation too.
By far, our most memorable experience in Paris. Our guide was so nice and personable. I would do this again and again. Such a unique way to see the city!
This tour was fantastic, the experience was great and the guide knew his stuff. I would recommend this to anyone.
The tour was great! Although the ride was before things were completely closed to traffic (and we weren't able to ride in the tunnel under the Tuileries; the police said no), being able to ride along the Champs-Élysées with minimal traffic was fantastic.
This tour was novel and the tour company staff were very energetic and upbeat. However, the tour was unable to to go the entire planned route due to unanticipated police obstructions. So we ended up diverging and going through other areas. This was nice, but the guide (being relatively new) did not really make the most of it by giving us information about what we were seeing. It would have also been more enjoyable if some background of the Tour de France was provided along with the significance of the route we were to ride. The idea for this tour is a good one, but there is a lot of room for improvement; particularly for the price we paid.
The tour was advertised as ride the final laps of the Tour de France - an opportunity to ride the Champs Elysee when it is closed to traffic. The road was not closed to traffic and in fact the guide took the tour group across a section of road which resulted in him being reprimanded by paris police. Also the guide knew nothing about the Tour de France. This tour was a gift to my husband who is mad keen on the Tour de France so I was disappointed with his resulting experience.
The regular part of the bike ride was ok - it was what was expected. But the reason we signed up for the ride was that on this particular day we could ride up and down the Champs Elysee a few hours prior to the Tour de France riders, with the Champs Elysee all dressed up and ready to go. That was what was advertised, that was what we signed up for, and that was what we got up early to do. It meant a lot to us. But that never happened. We were not allowed to ride on the Champs Elysee. A bit of a bait-and-switch if you ask us.
We're not sure why that happened, but we were also a bit miffed that the guide tried to gloss over it. She obviously knew that it was not a good situation and was not pleased having to deal with it. She tried to talk around it, but we knew it was a switch and called her on it, which was uncomfortable for all.
I believe that we should be charged for a regular bike ride, with he difference between that and the price we paid refunded.
Big disappointment. Maybe not Viator's fault, maybe it is. We don't know and frankly don't care. However, we have booked Viator excursions quite a few times, and whether we use Viator again depends on how they handle this.
