Not enough stars to describe our experience. The two tour leaders were the nicest and extremely fun to be with and very knowledgeable and informative. The highlight of the trip was our visit to an independent family run winery where they treated us to a gourmet lunch to go along with the wine tasting. Just scrumptious. The wine was excellent and even bought three bottles to take back home (which they boxed up) for only 15 euros. This was definitely a highlight of our trip Paris.
Absolutely great, nice small group, good drive, superquide Paulina!!!! Lovely easy to listen english, no french pronounciation, as it is so hard to listen all long day, and also in buss microphone instead of headset, easier! Only the place of start by the catacombes so far, you needed a taxi.
Fantastic tour guide and really enjoyable day. Also loved the lunch and wine tasting and Nitray. Only small negative was the air on the bus. Got quite warm and uncomfortable at times due to the air conditioning on the bus not being great. Overall would highly recommend this tour though!
What a great experience! The tour guide was very friendly and informative. At each place, we were given ample free time to explore on our own. Lunch was delicious. I highly recommend this tour!
wonderful time on this tour, guides were great. Good lunch with plenty of wine and excellent tours of Chateauxs. Long ride but guides filled up the time with information and history about the sights which added to the experience. Highly recommended.
We LOVED this tour. The majority of our time in France was in Paris, so this was a wonderful opportunity to get out of the city and see some amazing sites. Our tour group was a small and friendly bunch (representing an array of home countries), and our tour guide (Caroline) was very knowledgable and engaging. Lunch was delicious, and the wine tastings were enjoyable. Truly a highlight of our trip to France!
Absolutely fabulous....our guide Caroline was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable and made the whole day so enjoyable.
Absolutely stunning tour. Chateau Nitray was a highlight. The meal was superb and we were the only tour there. Please keep it like that. We had a hiccough when at Chambord the driver of our bus did not have the correct permit to drive for so many days and was fined. After an hour and a half of sitting on the bus a guest paid the substantial fine so that we could get on our way (he was to be reimbursed). Someone slipped up badly here. Our guide was mortified and bought us each a bottle of wine from the company to apologise. After the superb lunch at Nitray, tour and bottle of wine all was forgiven. It did not spoil our day and neither did we have to miss anything. It was unfortunate, none of the guests got upset which could have impacted badly on the tour. All in all a really wonderful tour. We were well looked after.
What a great trip! Even in the pouring rain we had a fabulous time. Our tour guide, Lindsey, was very knowledgable and delightful!
Our guide, Lindsey, was phenomenal! She answered our questions and gave additional suggestions of places to see in Paris. The Loire Valley is beautiful and on a sunny day, it is really spectacular. Nittray Winery was a wonderful lunch location. The owner is quite a character and extremely charming, but the wine and food were extraordinary. To me it is amazing that a simple roasted chicken lunch could possibly be so tasty. We tasted wines before and after lunch, and ended up purchasing some of the red we had for lunch. Chambord and Chenonceau are such different chateaux, and really good choices to understand the French aristocracy and how they were tied to the history of France. Lindsey provided us with some side information that was wonderful about life inside the chateaux. Wonderful experience!
My husband and I went on this tour with Lindsay as our tour guide, and it was wonderful! She was great at giving us interesting and scandalous tidbits of historical information throughout the day that helped us learn more about French history and the chateaux we were visiting. Lunch and wine tasting was fun and tasty, and was a nice break in between the two tours. We enjoyed the company of the 10 other folks on our bus as well. I would definitely recommend this tour!
Note: For those with dietary restrictions -- I'm a vegetarian and was more than stuffed at lunch on the bread, cheese, tomatoes, and potatoes they offered via buffet!
