Excellent tour, but I think what really makes it is the guide. We had Daniel the Irishman. He made this trip very educational and fun! The instructions on where to meet were very clear. I did call to ask about carrying a backpack which is OK and you can leave items on the bus while touring.
We went on the Loire Valley Castles and Wine Tasting Tour. Our guide was excellent! His name was Daniel and he was from Ireland so he had a little Irish twang to his French Accent. He was extremely knowledgeable and fun! He shared tons of history and there wasn't a question he couldn't answer. If you go on this tour, be sure to ask for Daniel. As for the tour, Chambord was so beautiful and honestly you could spend the day there. Danial gave us a walking tour and then allowed us 30 min to tour on our own. Another thing, Daniel is very sure he keeps all of us together. There were 26 and he was always looking and counting. The other two Chateaus were very cool and wonderful to see and hear the history. The wine is OK, some enjoyed others did not. Just depends upon your liking. The lunch was simple but excellent! Roasted tomatoes, potatoes, chicken, cheese and bread. This is definitely worth the money! It is about 2.5 hrs to the first place and you do stop to visit restrooms. There is about 45 min between places and the ride home which again we stopped for restrooms. Wear good walking shoes and it is safe to leave stuff on the bus if you don't wish to carry. You will receive a headset and box to listen to Daniel so he doesn't have to speak over others. Having your own head set is a little nicer. But still it was very clear to hear him.
Tina was our guide, and she was wonderful. We enjoyed all the historical information. Pick-up and drop off location Catacombs entrance in Denfert Rochereau is very conveniently near RER B line. There was plenty of seats available on the bus, and it was quite comfy. Lunch was not mind-blowing but seemed like it was kept simple no crazy ingredients so everybody could be happy oven roasted chicken -super soft-, oven roasted potatoes and tomatoes, green salad -just lettuce-, coffee and fruit tart, and of course the wine from the chateau. The owner was adorable. Charming chateaus. The cookies at one of the shops by Cheteau Chambord are absolutely yummy.
The guides were fabulous. We had an excellent meal with wine tasting.
This was one great day tour. The Loire Valley is beautiful and the Chateaus were also. Great gourmet lunch and wine tasting at Nitray. Would definitely recommend this over any other Loire Valley tour.
A wonderful tour. The guides were great. The food was excellent. The wine was great. I highly recommend this tour.

This was an amazing tour - in part by the tour guide! He was so fun, so knowledgable, we had a great time! Nitray was the best part - the wine was excellent and the owner fun and welcoming. The lunch there was good - we felt like we were having a Thanksgiving feast at family's home. I recommend taking this tour in the summer or early fall - late March/early April is still very chilly, and Chateaux deChamboard was freezing :oO All in all, very worth it!
The tour was exactly what I hoped it would be. The tour guide was very informative and fun. The lunch was delicious and the owners of the vineyard made us feel like family. The wine was also very good and reasonably priced. It is a long day, but well worth it to see these beautiful chateaux and the Loire Valley.
Great tour! Really enjoyed everything, our tour guide, Daniel deserves extra credit for very smooth talk, passion, jokes. He made a difference! Would recommend this tour and Daniel highly!!!
Ruta and Tina were our guides and they were great. Funny and knowledgeable, yet managed to keep us moving along. In case you haven and #39;t looked at the map, be prepared to spend at least 6 hrs on the bus in total. Bring comfy headphones to use with the radios they give you to listen to the castle tours.
I am so glad that I booked this tour. I discovered a whole new part of France...........the history and architecture of the Chateaus. The ride on the bus was very comfortable and I was able to either sleep or enjoy the views of the countryside. My guides were very knowledgeable and personable as I was constantly peppering them with questions. The chateauxs themselves were wonderful and grand, much as I expected, but it was the personal stories of the histories of these wonderful homes that made everything more special. I highly recommend this tour and I am looking forward to taking several more with Viator. It was a very high quality tour by guides who love their work.
Awesome tour! Violet and Tina were amazing! Lots of interesting facts and they went above and beyond to recommend lots of places to eat and drink in Paris. Highly recommend!
The tour is well organized with good history stories about the chateaux. The late lunch and wine tasting at Chateaux Nitray was very delicious! A wonderful trip to the Loire Valley!
Excellent overall experience. Tour guide was very competent and informative.
I enjoyed the excursion very much. Excellent guide, very nice day.

Great tour of a this beautiful region of France. The wine was not my favorite of France but the lunch provided was absolutely delicious! Our tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable and the bus was comfortable. The castles we visited were gorgeous but I had hoped we would see more castles from the bus. Only a couple were visible even though there are several dozen in the region. We were able to spend ample time at each stop to enjoy the estates.

Another wonderful trip. The guide, Adam, was excellent. He really filled in the blanks and pointed out lots of interesting places and times to us as we journeyed to the three Chateaus. The winery Nitray, was great. The meal was good and the wine also. Loved the winemaker. Totally worth the price!
It was a great day! Beautiful Chateaux --- with great wine!
I wasn't sure the cost was worth it, but I was really suprised afterwards! This was a great tour and the guides were exceptional!
Felt like I stepped into a Disney movie at these sites...incredible. Would have liked more time at Chenonceau.
Daniel and Violetta were experienced and knowledgeable tour guides. My husband, daughter and I enjoyed the day and call it one of our best days in France!
Excellent! Loire Valley is beautiful and good way to see French countryside.
