Thoroughly recommend this tour. I chose the evening tour expecting that there would be fewer people in the Louvre at that time and it was indeed the case. Our tour guide was knowledgable and very interesting.
I have now been on 4 tours in Italy and France run by "Dark Rome" and would recommend them every time.
In 6 weeks of travelling through Europe, this was the best tour we did. Isabel was the best tour guide we had. She gave us a great overview of the Louvre, and we saw some fabulous art and sculpture. She gave me an insight into sculpture that I had never had before. The delivery and content of the information she delivered was absolutely spot on. I was quite surprised when the 3 hours was up - it had gone so fast.
Alexander was our tour guide. Shared his knowledge and love of art with us. Came away learning so much and enjoying the tour. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Wonderful experience! Unfortunately our time was limited due to prior commitments with our tour group, but our guide gave us a private tour tailored to include the main features of the Louvre. My husband and I were very impressed with her knowledge and the respect shown to us and our daughter.
Great tour. - went on the small group tour which was fantastic felt like a personal tour, we would not have seen half of what we saw on our own, exhausting but well worth it.
Having an English speaking guide with a high level of understanding of the buidling and its works made this tour a real pleasure. Our guide also took us on a tour of the archeological finds re the foundations of the building, an added extra that we were not expecting. Our guide spent 45 minutes more with us than was scheduled, such was his interest in ensuring that we got to see as much as possible in our time in Paris. Excellent tour.
To see the Louvre without the benefit of a guide is to miss 90% - unless you are an art expert yourself!
In just over three hours we enjoyed the most amazing art lesson and came to appreciate works that we would otherwise walk past thinking.. "what's so great about that?"
Individual headsets meant that we never missed a word that our expert guide had to say - even if we were gazing elsewhere... what a great use of technology!
There were 5 of us on the tour and the tour director was absolutely fabulous. I learned so much. He was friendly, personable and very very knowledgable and made the tour exciting. I could have spent the entire day with him in the Louvre. Every thing went smoothly from booking the tour on line, to meeting the tour guide outside the Louvre and the entire tour. Would absolutely book a tour through Viator again.
Our tour guide, Ibai -some American lady accidentally called him eBay- was amazing; knowledgeable and friendly. If there were artworks we were particularly interested in and pointed them out he would go over them with us in detail and answer all of our questions. I don't think I would have enjoyed the Lourve as much, or learnt as much, without him. Art seemed to be something he was passionate about and had a real appreciation for, and this was infectious.
This Walking tour to Louvre Museum is very good. Our Guide Mr. Herve was excellent!
The group was small (5 people) and the guide, an American arts student was very knowledgeable and brought us to every single famous piece and provided the history behind each of them and also how they became so famous. The tour was two hours and we had covered a lot of ground, the guide had guided us chronologically and put each piece of art in context. Just one piece of advice: the Arc of the Carousel is inside of the Palace courtyard so you have to go inside the big Louvre courtyard to see it. People on the street had no idea what I was asking for but if you ask for the Louvre pyramid, they will show you and the Arc is facing the pyramid. Highly recommended tour!
