Loved every minute of this trip. It went at a nice leisurely pace and our guide, Niamh was very personable and knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to be there on one of the musical fountain days so it was quite magical. Lunch was delicious and there was plenty of time for us to have a ride in a rowboat on the Grand Canal. An excellent day out.

Had a great day. Guide that was allocated to us was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. He knew all the history of the monarchs, and explained all that happened in plain english within a painted scene. He brought Versailles and Versailles Palace arrive for us !!!!!

I can't rate this subjectively- hurt my back and was unable to go- I could have rescheduled expect I had other things booked! However I spoke to a few other people, a couple who'd done the Versailled trip without a guide and thought it was "OK", and others who went with a guide and thought it was "Fantastic". I think you really need a guide to take you into these historical places and galleries in order to get the full impact of the experience, all the background stories, court intrigue etc. It's fine to "ooh and aah" by yourself, but you don't come away with nearly as much.

Crepes by the French market were delicious. You can buy wine or fresh meat to add to picnic provided by company which was very good in itself.

This was a great day trip. The train station turned out to be right by our hotel. We met our tour guide, who took our lunch orders. We borded the train and rode for about 35-40 minutes. Two block from train we were taken to a market - huge square covered with food stands, anything and everything. We were given about 40 minutes to buy anything we want, and I wish we had more time because it was awesome but overwhelming. Then we went about 10 minute walk through the city of Versailled, very cute. We went through the back entrance to the Versailles Gardens and started the tour. The Tour guide was informative and funny, which was great. We walked through the gardens for about two hours, it was magnificent Then we had a picnic lunch (a huge bagette and pastry and water - all delicious), plus all the food we bought at the market, by a beautiful lake with plenty of fish, who also enjoyed some of the food). We had a free hour here, so you can walk around after. Then we had about another hour and a half for the gardens and then an hour and a half tour of the inside of the palace, which was spectacular. We were given tickets back prior to the palace tour and chose to leave ourselves after the tour, or you can meat your guide and go back all together. The group goes back to the train stop by Eiffel Tower, and ours was on the opposite side, but the ticket back is good for either train. If you a first time to France and don't speak any French, this is a great option, great day!

Great tour with a fun tour guide Asha! The weather was terrible, rainy/windy but she made it fun and we learned so much more than we would have on out own. Awesome to travel with someone who knew what they were doing and skipping the lines was fantastic!

The history supplied by our guide was very interesting. The tour started in the Market and then we walked to Versailles Palace. First we did the garden and then the Palace. The garden area is huge. This is a very relaxing tour with lunch beside the Grand Canal, which is a man made area where you could also hire a rowing boat is you wish. The Palace was extremely crowded, but a very good tour.

Excellent - this was a long day - make sure you have good walking shoes - and a coat. The gardens were spectacular and the Palace was worth seeing even though there were hoards of eager tourists jostling for camera positions. Our guide (Greg) from Australia was excellent - he knew a lot about the history of the Palace and had some hilarious tales to tell. Definately recommend this one!!

We had a great guide (the best) Ashen. She knew the history behind Versailles and made it quite enjoyable. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Inside Versailles on the weekend was a mad house. Otherwise had a very enjoyable day.
