One of my favorite tours that we took! The guide was very knowledgeable and was very kind. She waited in the que line early so that we could go in with her so we avoided a very long wait when they opened. Absolutely facinating!
Such an amazing experience and made more so by the tour. The catacombs are pretty spectacular but having someone knowledgeable about the history and details throughout the tunnels is the only way to do it. If we were to buy tickets and walk through a lot of subtleties would be missed. And the line to get tickets was around the block by 10 am. Our tour guide Demetry sp? was waiting at the front of the line when we got there and was enthusiastic throughout the tour. He answered questions and made sure everyone was ok. My opinion, this is the only way to tour the catacombs, it was worth every penny.
Amazing tour with all the tunnels we went through under the city. She our guide was very very inform able
Excellent! Our guide was terrific and the ossiary did not disappoint. 5 stars.
Super interesting! A little bit creepy, but overall a great experience that provided lots of French history.
My two teenage kids really enjoyed the Catacombs. There is quite a bit of walking so wear comfortable shoes. Definitely worth the money.
My trip was sadly cancelled for medical reasons! Viatar was awesome and without any difficulty my money was refunded!
Our guide was knowledge and fun. We enjoyed the excursion greatly. And truly hated saying goodbye to the guide and group!
This was fantastic. Not only by booking the tour did we not have to wait in line it was up to 5 hours by the time we entered, but we had a knowledgeable and entertaining guide who provided the history during our tour. This trip was absolutely worth it.
The only problem we had, we kept getting emails with changed times, we had no idea what time to meet and almost missed the entire group.
Other than that we got some interesting facts and the tour guide was wonderful.
Need better communication when booking online otherwise some people might come at the wrong time.
Our guide Dimitri was fantastic! I booked this tour for the kids but ended up being quite pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
First of all, YOU SKIP THE LINE. That alone makes the whole thing worth it. Trust me, on really nice days, the line goes around the block TWICE.
Second, its great to hear facts and anecdotes about the Catacombs. Our guide was very nice, informative, and engaging.
Third, its a small group! So youre not straining to hear what the guide is saying.
BOOK IT! BOOK IT! BOOK IT!
Our guide was Dimitri and he was fabulous!! The tour was all I expected and more - absolutely fascinating and Dimitri's aside comments were a welcome addition. Unbelievable part of the city's history. A must see in Paris!
Very glad I pre-booked this experience. Lucy was our guide and she queued up early on our behalf. On a cold Paris day at the end of March we met her at 9.15am and she told us to come back at 9.45am chance for a rest and to warm up again. Though close to the front of the queue maybe 30-40 ahead of us it still took until 10.30 for us to go into the site.
Lucy was very engaging and knowledgeable and took a dozen of us down the tunnels. It was good to hear about the history of the tunnels before their use as a 'burial site' to set the scene. Once we reached the Bones themselves, she told us the history and made it really come alive!. It took us an hour and a half to re-emerge at the other end. More expensive yes, but we didn't have to queue as long as many others had to and whilst down there got real sense of it - an experience which will live long in the memory. Others who weren't on the tour rushed by so you also get that for your money from the tour.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable regarding the history of the catacombs :
Great tour of the Catacombs! I went a few years ago without a guide and, while it was a fun experience, I always wished I had learned more about it. I was talk that it was something to do with the Black Plague, which is completely wrong. The guide first explained what was going on, and then escorted us around at a leisurely pace giving us pieces of history and showing interesting bits. If this is something you plan to do while in Paris, this tour is well worth it!
Very interesting and worth going to see. The tour guide was very informative and entertaining.
This tour is great plus the guided is a bonus as we learned so much and we able to skip the long Q.
the Catacombs were great and having a guided tour just made it a great time, well worth doing and would do it again,
Going to the catacombs was a major must do on my trip to Paris. I've missed it several times before and I was really eager to explore the place this time. We've met an hour before at the entrance of the catacombs. The guide told us that he will get the tickets and we can have breakfast at the nearby Brasserie. Right before 10 o'clock I went back to the entrance of the catacombs and the queue was already huge. Lucky for us, our guide was almost in the front line. Our group was split in small groups of approx. 8 people. Immediately after a few steps I was happy to booked the tour with a guide. He gave us so many additional information and show us hidden stuff I would have missed by exploring by myself. The guide had a broad history knowledge and knew how to wrap it up in an interesting way. The whole trip took around 90min I guess and I've never had the feeling that the guys are rushing. So they really took time for our questions. Would definitely do it again!
What they don't tell you is your guide is the one standing in line for you. The time you are given is when they should be at the front. The day we went, the lines were crazy! I guess it was some kind of holiday and the policy changed with this tour company at the beginning of February. It doesn't appear they have the same privilages they once had. We stil ended up having to wait another 1.15 minutes from orginal time given. Our guide was very apologitic an said we could get our money back if we didnt' want to wait. My friend and I were on a missioni to see this place. Once we got it, it was worth the wait. Our guide, David, was amazing. He made the tour. It still would have been great to see, but hearing the history behind the bones and back story was great. Just be prepared you may have to wait longer than expected. We didn't have anything scheduled after, so it wasn't a problem.
