This tour was most fun and interesting. The market has amazing items, but many are very expensive. Our guide Marie was so nice, natural, and a great host. My only comment was that outside the Market the area was sketchy and we felt somewhat unsafe, especially in the Metro station, where aggressive young males were trying to sell tickets. We walked down to the next station which was fine. Watch your pockets.
Our guide was a delight and very knowledgeable. Very much enjoyed our trip through both the old markets and the newer, more trendy. Great characters and much fun!
I really enjoyed this tour, it was quite fun heading to the outskirts of Paris to shop among the locals. The furniture was AMAZING - I could have furnished my house 5 times over with the pieces I liked. Lots of other interesting bits and pieces on offer too - I picked up an antique pendant circa 1850 for example. One could easily spend a day looking around - some quality food options out there too. Our good was good, but didn't interact and engage with the group as much as he could have.
The tour was excellent and well worth doing. One could easily spend the entire day there because of the volume of stalls and types of items. Our guide explained the different areas of the market and how to approach each one. He gave us a map of the layout towards the end of the tour, but I think it would have been more beneficial to begin the tour with that, as he explained the size initially, so that we could get our bearings, especially if we got lost as we walked and gawked. I would definitely feel comfortable going back to the flea market on my own, on further return trips to Paris, after this tour.
This is an outstanding way to visit the flea market...with no fear of getting lost.(Easier than you think.) Alexander, our guide, was wonderful. We would definitely recommend this to anyone. He has many interesting anecdotes to tell, and makes sure you see what interests you.
We didn't really get the experience we were hoping for. Our guide didn't take us to look at items we were interested inn.
