Great tour of a great building. Guide was very knowledgeable.
Wonderful tour... you learn so much!! More than likely there will be a practice, so you can't go in the actual opera concert area... but the guide opens a door to allow you to look inside... it is absolutely magnificent. The guide also tells you very interesting stories ... ghost stories, and non-traditional facts. LOVED it!! FYI-- they stopped allowing you to come back the next day with your ticket if the opera hall is being used for practice. So just know that... it was a little disappointing because peeking through a door and standing it is definitely NOT the same thing.. but for some reason, they think it is.
Wow! Fascinating to learn about the history of the opera house. The phantom story is intriguing. Loved the building and the commentary from our guide.
Our Group was led by a lovely young woman who was very knowledgeable about the history and architecture details of the Opera House. We were able to go into the auditorium where she pointed out interesting facts and features and assured us that the Phantom would not be making an appearance. Darn! We then proceeded to the area where several costumes that were worn by famous opera celebrities were on display. The tour then ended in the Ballroom which made it quite clear why this is considered to be "the most beautiful building in the world". A fabulous tour-not to be missed!
We would definitely recommend this -- our guide provided a lot of information on the personalities of the people involved in the commissioning of the Opera Garnier. The tour group size was small so we could hear everything and her English was excellent. A most enjoyable tour.
The tour was very informative and interesting. We really enjoyed it. The guide explained valuable points of interest and provided good photo opportunities. We would highly recommend this company to anyone visiting Paris. The Opera house is a treasure and not to be missed.
Worth the money spent for the guided tour. The opera house is beautiful.
Fantastc tour guide, Edith. Was fun and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour but book at least a week in advance.
The "Treasures of the Opera Garnier Tour in Paris" was excellent. The only complaint I have is that upon arriving at Opera Garnier prior to the tour starting, it seemed somewhat disorganized and the staff was uncommunicative as to where we were supposed to wait and which group was which. However, it all worked out fine, because eventually (they were 10 minutes late starting) they organized the people into the proper tours and we set off on our tour. The tour guide was excellent, well informed and seemed very happy to be there and enjoyed her job. This tour was well worth the money.
Absolutely fabulous. The guide was great, she really made the experience come alive with her stories. We were in France for 13 days and both my husband and myself agreed that this was the highlight of the trip. It was even better than going to Versailles because there were no crowds. We have recommended this to everyone we know. So many people have seen it from the outside but have no idea how gorgeous it is inside.
Definitely worth it!!! The building is beautiful inside and the guide does tell so much interesting information about the Opera house that we all really were very happy to have done the tour. Much better than wandering aimlessly around. Order tickets online and just show up at the tour time - otherwise there will be a line or a long wait for the next English tour.
