Excellent guide and great visit. We opted for the lunch and it was fabulous. If you do the lunch go all the way with the more expensive choice. You're in Paris so splurge a little. The food and service are an experience you will remember.
Our guide was great. Definitely book a private, small group, tour. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of time in line!
I had visited Versailles before but this time was the best. We were a small group and the young girl assigned as our guide was both efficient and knowledgeable although there on Sunday and very crowded she guided us past the crowds very effectively. She took us to the private houses on the grounds, which I had never seen and was both personable and funny. Among other things she told us Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake" "She was smarter than that" ...I believe her. At the end she gave us passes to visit the gardens as well as time to do so. I would recommend this.
Our guide was extremely knowlegeable and knew the history of the place very well. She answered all our questions. Even on the ride to Versailles she gave us information about the French history. She conducted the tour at a very easy and relaxed pace. At the end of the tour she dropped us off at Maison Dalloyau. The food was awesome and the entire experience was fantastic.
We went in the off season so on this tour it was only my husband and I and our guide was amazing. It was very nice to have the extra attention and not deal with the crowds!
Great to see this amazing palace and learn about its history, be aware that you will not be able to go inside Marie Antoinette's village, you stop outside it and can take pictures. The highlight is the "hall of mirrors" and the meal at the Dalloyau restaurant. The food was amazing and the tour guide drops you off at the restaurant at the end of the Versailles tour.
This tour was fabulous. As it turned out, we were the only ones on the tour, so we has a private tour. Our gu9ide (I think her name was Suzanne) was knowledgeable, friendly, had expert English, and was a very good driver. My grandson, age 20, and I had a memorable day. Thanks to all
This was well worth the money! We lucked out and including ourselves, there were only 4 of us. We traveled comfortably by van and our tour guide, Eduardo was a perfect "10"!! He spoke to us during the whole drive there and back (about a 30 min trip from Paris). He pointed out so many things and best of all gave us a history lesson about what we were going to see. We liked that he was not only our driver but the person who brought us inside to tour the palace. He was very informative and kept an eye out for the crowds so he could get us room to room before a large group entered. The last hour were were on our own so we could go into the gardens or eat in the cafe s well as go back inside. Even in January, the gardens are worth seeing. We have used Viator several times before and in other countries. Their guides are professional and informative.
Excellent tour with very knowledgeable tour guide. The Palace is amazing, beyond comprehension. The Dalloyau is definitely worth the extra money and close to Champs Elysee and other attractions. Great way to spend a morning. There's a fantastic patisserie opposite the street with rocket fuel coffee!
This tour was great. Our guide, Michelle, was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Versailles was amazing! I've been to France many times before, but this was my first time to Versailles. Highly recommended to all travellers.
Our tour guide can be ahistory professor. She is also a very kind and corteous person. In my next visit I want to take this tour again with her as well as the VIP one.
This was a great tour and we were glad to include Versailles during our trip to Paris. Our guide picked us up on time and the transportation was very comfortable. We were lucky to be the only ones on this morning tour as we were able to ask alot of questions. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. We especially enjoyed the Marie-Antoinette portion of the tour as she seemed like a fascinating individual. Versailles is beautiful as is the palace and the grounds! Unfortunately we didn't have time for the Dalloyau meal option but the menu looked delicious.
