Trip was excellent by timing, information, personalty, thank you very much
Very much enjoyed the day trip, with the midday break for the nice lunch!
Versailles was extremely crowed and using Viator to gain access made the experience very easy and enjoyable.
Our guide is an Italian lady whose so cute and knowladable. The gardens are not attractive because of the season but yet it was nice. Such a big garden so better not to lost too much time because inside of the palace is facinating. Take a guided tour for such places is a must.Otherwise you dont know the history and the secret connections. You just see things. We just bought the enterene tour because at that time we could not see such an offer which guided for inside. But we offered to pay the rest and upgrade our tour. It was very kind of you thanks Viator. But sometimes we can not see all the options for certain tours, fyi.
Fantastic tour. We had a brilliant guide Celine, who looked after the seven of us all day and gave us a real insight into French history. Lunch was a real surprise the restaurant was gorgeous and the food very good. I can't fault the tour our guide or the company. Well done to all involved in organising the tours.
If you are looking for a hassle-free and well-guided tour of this huge palace and know more about its secrets as well, this tour is perfect for you.
The tour was great starting with our driver and tour guide Serge such a lovely man. Versailles is amazing and a must do day trip from Paris.
Basically this is a self tour that you pay the guide to tell you a bit about the grounds and with entrance to the palace. I'd recommend this for people who want a high level review of Versailles without much depth and are willing to walk away thinking the cost of a taxi might have been more. For what our guide did she was very good and very nice....bottom line the cost is not worth it.
A little disappointing in view of the cost paid. I anticipated a small guided tour through the palace itself. Instead our group was dropped off at the gate and, although tickets were provided, we then had to make our own way through the palace (free audio guide available and which I utilised. However, as there were a lot of tourists having their own private tours, accessing rooms in the short amount of time we had available and making full use of the audio was not possible). We then met with the guide outside the palace after about 1 hour for a brief overview of the gardens. After this, we had approximately 15 minutes free time before needing to be back at the gate for departure. Our guide also mentioned that, in the height of summer, she wouldn't be able to guarantee that we could bypass the queues for the palace. I think that paying what I consider a premium price would guarantee a personalised tour and no queues. That said, if you really want to see Versailles in all its glory, you really need a whole day as the gardens are enormous. Going at the height of summer isn't necessary although you would probably get the full effect. However, the hibernation period Versailles undergoes in October is still worth a visit.
Fred our driver had a tremendous sense of humor and was quite enjoyable. We learned a lot about the history of Versaille and what we would see when we got there. He was punctual and happy to answer any questions we had. The only way to see Versaille.
Andre was a fantastic tour guide. Very friendly and informative as he constantly shared facts about the city's history as we drove to and from Versailles. We were picked-up on time and the drive was very enjoyable. We liked that this was NOT a guided tour through the palace - the headset provided gives more than enough information and leaves you plenty of time to explore the gardens. Would definitely recommend.
It was a wonderful tour. Full of history and facts. Our guide was very informative. The lunch was quite good but there was no time to shop! This is the tour for you if you want to see it all.
Disappointed in the time available to spend at Versailles. Driver P/U at hotel on time (8:30am) Drive to Versailles took 30 minutes @ arrival at Approx. 9am. Could not get into the building for tour until 9:45am.
Had to meet the Viator guide @ 11:30am to return to the hotel. That left us with only 1 Hr 45 minutes to see all. Felt like we had to rush. The driver/guide was great!! Needed more time to see everything as so much to see. Skip the line is the way to go!!!
