What You Can Expect

History, Culture and Heritage Walking Tour of Perth

Walking tour of Perth

Start your tour at the Perth Town Hall, a beautiful example of Victorian Free Gothic architecture built by convicts in the 1860s and lovingly restored in 2005. With your guide, walk past the Supreme Court and Stirling Gardens as you make your way down to the expansive Swan River and the Bell Tower, one of Perth’s iconic waterfront attractions.

From the Bell Tower, walk back into the Central Business District to see some of Perth’s last remaining historical buildings. Admire the quaint shopping lane of London Court and the distinctive architecture of Trinity Church, and do a spot of window shopping along fashionable King Street before walking up to the entertainment area of Northbridge.

As you walk, your guide will give you the story of Perth’s history, from the city’s founding fathers to corporate high-fliers to the effects of Western Australia’s mining and resource boom. Finish your tour at Rosie O’Grady's Irish Pub in Northbridge, where you’ll hear a few tall tales and enjoy a drink from the bar.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended March 2014

Jenny was very good, knew her knowledge, and dropped me off at Jamie Oliver's restaurant for yummy dinner afterwards. A most enjoyable night, especially as how it co-incided with The Fringe Festival, and there was more to see and do.

4 star rating: Recommended February 2014

Excellent way to learn about Perth and its history. We visited all the historic buildings and learnt how Perth was established. Our guide was very friendly and very informed and showed us down laneways and told us about the changes happening in Perth. We ended up in Northbridge where all the restaurants and night life happens.
