Thoroughly enjoyed playing tourist in my home city. What a pity about Barrack Street Jetty being such an upheaval, though. The works are said to be finished in a few weeks - I bought 2 hats to eat Can I suggest more talk of historical buildings within the city? The talk of local fame included only 1 woman......could we include Professors Neville and Fiona Stanley to your commentory please? They have acheived much!!!!! Kings Park in full bloom....magnificent. Could you extend your tour to South Perth as much Aboriginal Hx there? All in all a good tour with room for more. Big thanks to our tour guide...he tried to take us home with him. Thanks so much for a very professional local service and well done Perth.
The deluxe pass is the way to go which includes the cruise with Captain Cook Cruises return to Fremantle, The hop on- hop off tram in Fremantle, the Prison tour, fish'n'chips for lunch and then the next two days you can use the Hop on-Hop off bus in Perth city. A great way to explore two locations with hassles.
Perth hop on/off was excellent , bar one incident where the driver took a shortcut and missed the scheduled stop where we were waiting. This cost us a valuable hour off site seeing.. We reported it to the next driver. Freemantle hop on/off was superb due to the friendly and outgoing nature of Ross our driver host, a mine of information. certainly the nature of the tram versus the double decker bus made the trip more intimate and the vehicle was quieter allowing more interface with the driver..
Was a good way to get around Perth. The river cruise and old prison was the best part.
Had a great time. The staff was extremely friendly informative and fun. We highly recommend this tour.
Timing was perfect to be able to the bus and boat in one day! Loved it
A compact clean city on the banks of the Swan river, not too far from Freemantle, plenty to see and do.
A great way to see Perth - and to travel around the city to get to each different venue. Love an open topped bus!
We did the 48 hour tour starting with the Swan River cruise to Fremantle where we did the Fremantle Prison tour which was very interesting. The fish and chips lunch was fantastic. On day 2 we took the bus to King's Park and then did the city loop out to the Casino and back. Enjoyed the tour very much. Great way to get around. Love Perth.
Though I did not join the Perth trip, I get to enjoy the Fremantle trip, especially the Fremantle Prison tour. After the Fremantle trip, I get to know more of Fremantle and will made my second trip there again.
A very good tour around Perth. We particularly enjoyed the King's Park and Botanical gardens and the magnificent views from the top of the bus. It is a pity that the bus only runs hourly - We just missed the first bus as we walked to the stop and had to wait an hour until the next, also it would have been nice to make short stops at places of interest but an hour was too long and the last complete tour was quite early. Despite this I would recommend either the 2 day pass or for people wanting a full day the river trip is also excellent as is the tour in Freemantle which we did on a different day.
The hop on hop off bus was just OK but the river cruise was very good as was the Fremantle Tram where the driver was very informative and friendly. Fremantle was different but we were glad that we were not staying there for any length of time and we had some great fish and chips at Sweetlips on the fish quay.
If you are going to do this tour get a Triple ticket and do all three.
The commentary was first class, but it appears that it only caters for English speakers. The quality of the bus was mediocre. The buses are old and could do with some refurbishment of the seats.
We are satisfied with the Perth Hop-On Hop-Off Tour. With this tour, we almost visited all the Perth’s most famous attractions. It departs every one hour, which it is enough for us to visit each attraction. We love the double-decker bus. It was great sitting up there to view the scenery. Besides, the bus drivers are helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our trip to Perth by taking this Hop-On Hop-Off Tour.
Amazing combination of sights of Perth, the river cruise to Fremantle, the jail tour- what an eerie place with such recent history.
Great way to see the sights of Perth and Freemantle with the 48 hour pass which included bus, excellent guided walking tour, boat trip to Freemantle with wine tasting on the way back and free tea and coffee, also tram ride in Freemantle. Only disappointing thing was that the bus did not stick to the timetable leaving early, which meant we had to wait an hour for the next one, or late.
The only problem - the driver hit a tree branch and it fell and could have seriously hurt someone. But the tour itself was very informative and enjoyable.
If you buy the deluxe pass which includes Fremantle Prison, you Must have two full days to use this pass. We never got to use the Hop-On-Off bus in Perth as the whole day was spent getting to and around Freemantle. However, if you DO have two days, definitely go ahead and purchase the Deluxe deal. Fremantle was great and the prison tour a Must see. Lunch was lovely and the tram ride enjoyable. The ferry trip to Fremantle took about an hour so a nice tour of the harbour and a chance to see where the rich people live.
This didn't work well for us. Our ship docked in Fremantle. We could have gotten this tour out of Fremantle, but I mistakenly chose Perth, so we had to get there. Perth seems to be under construction -- all of it. We spent most of the day getting to where we could take our cruise, and they had no record of us, but managed to jam us on anyway. The cruise down the river was a little lame.
Worth the effort but the giants spoiled the trip and we only seen part of Perth.
Overall, the service was great. The "guide" was really friendly which make the trip enjoyable. However, the bus was not air conditioned, making it hot and stuffy. Also, we could smell the carbon monoxide that was emiting from the bus engine. But other than that, it was great
