Pittock Mansion in Portland

Your 3.5-hour sightseeing tour begins with morning hotel pickup and a tasty selection of tea, pastries and seasonal snacks. Settle in as your luxury van winds through Portland’s west side en route to the first stop, the grounds of the historic Pittock Mansion. Marking the end of the extensive Wildwood Trail in Forest Park, this mansion was once home to Portland pioneer and newspaper tycoon Henry Pittock and his wife, Georgiana. Take advantage of one of the best views of Portland from the lofty grounds.

Next, descend from the hills for a full tour of Portland’s four main quadrants: Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest. Divided by the arterial Burnside Street and the Willamette River, each gridded quarter is anything but conventional. Experience the distinct feel of each area — from the Pearl District and Nob Hill to Hawthorne and Alberta — and discover the many art galleries, cafes, wine bars, boutiques and restaurants.

No trip to Portland is complete without a park tour. Accompany your naturalist guide to at least two of Portland’s gorgeous green spaces for a lesson in local flora and fauna. Possible stops include Washington Park, Mt Tabor Park, Laurelhurst Park and, depending on the season, the International Rose Test Garden.

Conclude your tour at Powell’s City of Books, the world’s largest independent new and used bookstore — a mecca for book lovers!

Our first trip to Portland and this tour was just what we needed to get an overview and an insider's look into the city. Our tour guide, Jeff, a native of Portland, was great!

Jeff was AWESOME! He was very knowledgeable about the tour subject, and addressed all questions about the sites we were seeing. I would even go back in a heartbeat. If someone was moving to Portland, this would be a great tour to look for neighborhoods. FYI: You should market this tour with all realtors in the area. He even gave us directions for the scenic route to Multnomah Falls.Great job, Jeff!

Lovely tour guide, Bri. We learned a lot, and she knows Portland inside/out. We benefited from her experience and recommendations. The tour itself, we think, is designed to give one an overview of the area from the main attractions of the city to viewing residential parts, and it does an excellent job of both.
