What You Can Expect
When you arrive, your professional guide will take you to a few waterfalls. This area is home to the second-tallest perennial waterfall in the US, Multnomah Falls.
Spend some time hiking around these stunning natural wonders, and be sure to have your camera ready! Then, continue driving east, where wet forests of the coastal Pacific Northwest provide views of oaks, pines and other arid vegetation, creating prime growing conditions for grapes.
As you near the town of Hood River, embark on a tour of a few local wineries, each one unique and charming in its own way. At each winery, relax and sample some boutique wines found only in Oregon. The weather, views and wine make for an unparalleled vineyard experience.
In between wineries, your guide will tell you about the history of the land and the region’s culture, giving you an understanding of how this incredible landscape has shaped the wine in your glass.
Some of the wineries you may visit include Cathedral Ridge, Wy'East Vineyards, and others depending on the season. After your tour, relax on the drive back to your downtown Portland hotel.
Our tour guide/driver Aaron was great!!! It was the perfect combination of local knowledge and history with beautiful sights and two great wine stops! Would recommend this for anyone visiting the Portland area!
I really enjoyed by trip to the Columbia Gorge Waterfalls and to the two vineyards we went to. We also had time to stop at an apple stand and taste different apples and cider. Brad was the tour guide and he is the nicest guy. Also very knowledgeable about the history and the area. I was the only one on the tour, so I was very happy they didn't cancel on me and gave me the whole tour just as if there was a crowd. Highly recommend this tour.
Tour guide really knew their subject and was very informative. Scenery was breath taking and wine went over very well
I definitely would recommend this tour. Stephanie, our tour guide, was wonderful from the time she picked us up at the hotel and throughout the tour. Her experience with the falls and love of the Portland was greatly appreciated.
The tour guide Bri was fantastically enthusiastic and had a lot of knowledge about the local area. Even with traffic problems which Bri warned us about, I still feel that the tour packed in a lot of locations and gave us a flavour of some of the dights of the surrounding area. Would recommend this tour to everyone.
Bree was an awesome guide and shared interesting facts about Portland and the geology of the gorge. Unfortunately we were a little delayed by circumstances out of her control but she kept everyone in good spirits and everyone had a great time any way. The wine was amazing as were the waterfalls.
My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. The tour guide Kelsey was excellent, and she had so much knowledge during the entire trip, of everything Oregon. I would highly recommend this trip to everyone I can. I would recommend a heartier snack selection, as the trip is long and during the lunch hour. Thank you!
Fabulous trip! Beautiful waterfalls and an amazing day! Loved it!
Tour director brought locally made cookies and soda for our stop at the Falls at the Winery, she brought a cheese, meet and cracker platter.
Aaron was a very knowledgeable tour guide who did a great job of creating a congenial atmosphere. I could have spent more time at the waterfalls, but some of the group could have skipped them completely and gone straight for the wineries. Highly recommend to people looking to get a taste of Oregon's natural beauty as well as sample great wine. PS - there's a little bit of walking on concrete, so appropriate shoes are helpful.
