What You Can Expect

Columbia Gorge Waterfalls and Wine Tour from Portland

Wine Tasting in the Stunning Columbia Gorge

This afternoon trip begins with pickup from your Portland hotel, followed by a scenic drive along the Columbia River. Along the way, gain naturalist insight into the sheer basalt cliffs of the Cascade Mountains and abundant local wildlife such as bald eagles and ospreys.

The first stop is the Multnomah Falls area, where you can leisurely explore some of the gorge’s stunning waterfalls and rock formations. Then your group continues east to view some of the Pacific Northwest’s wet forests, where towering evergreens and oaks make you feel light years away from the city.

En route to the town of Hood River, stop at select wineries to meet local winemakers and taste unique varietals only found in Oregon. Depending on the season, your tour may include visits to such wineries as Cathedral Ridge and Wy'East Vineyards, where you'll learn what makes the region ripe for wine production. From the vineyards, catch gorgeous views of the area’s mountainous backdrop, including the startling peaks of Mount Hood and Mount Adams.

After sampling some of the Northwest’s best wines, enjoy the relaxing ride back to your hotel. Your 6-hour tours returns in the evening.

I really enjoyed by trip to the Columbia Gorge Waterfalls and to the two vineyards we went to. We also had time to stop at an apple stand and taste different apples and cider. Brad was the tour guide and he is the nicest guy. Also very knowledgeable about the history and the area. I was the only one on the tour, so I was very happy they didn't cancel on me and gave me the whole tour just as if there was a crowd. Highly recommend this tour.

I definitely would recommend this tour. Stephanie, our tour guide, was wonderful from the time she picked us up at the hotel and throughout the tour. Her experience with the falls and love of the Portland was greatly appreciated.

The tour guide Bri was fantastically enthusiastic and had a lot of knowledge about the local area. Even with traffic problems which Bri warned us about, I still feel that the tour packed in a lot of locations and gave us a flavour of some of the dights of the surrounding area. Would recommend this tour to everyone.

Bree was an awesome guide and shared interesting facts about Portland and the geology of the gorge. Unfortunately we were a little delayed by circumstances out of her control but she kept everyone in good spirits and everyone had a great time any way. The wine was amazing as were the waterfalls.

My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. The tour guide Kelsey was excellent, and she had so much knowledge during the entire trip, of everything Oregon. I would highly recommend this trip to everyone I can. I would recommend a heartier snack selection, as the trip is long and during the lunch hour. Thank you!

Aaron was a very knowledgeable tour guide who did a great job of creating a congenial atmosphere. I could have spent more time at the waterfalls, but some of the group could have skipped them completely and gone straight for the wineries. Highly recommend to people looking to get a taste of Oregon's natural beauty as well as sample great wine. PS - there's a little bit of walking on concrete, so appropriate shoes are helpful.
