We highly recommend this tour as a way to see the city (albeit a small piece). It was a good way to end the day.
Everything about this tour was most enjoyable, and the Fado experience a travel memory never to be forgotten. Had expected to be at a view sight in time for sunset over the city, but it was already dark by the time we reached it. Nevertheless very glad I took this tour. The Australian couple who were also on it with me were great company.
We had a nice evening. Our guide took us to unique places in the old moorish district and we tried local specialties. She was considerate of our comfort too, as we had those steep hills to tackle. The ride on the cable car was an experience I am glad we had. The bar where we listened to Fado was a gem, and we were made to feel very welcome. After, she made sure got back to our home base. We felt in good hands all evening.
The tour guide, Fabio was a great source of information and very personable. This tour is really worth the money since you get the tapas, wine and a Fado show at one of the most popular places in the Alfama neighborhood.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, I think it has a bit of everything around Lisbon.
Our group enjoyed a delightful evening walk with our informative and entertaining guide. She shared many interesting stories and our evening ended in a tiny fado restaurant where we sat at a long table and shared traditional tasting plates, drank local wine and listened to two fado performances. Please note that etiquette requires silence during the fado singing, so sit quietly, relax, sip wine and appreciate the performance.
Excellent tour, great guide lots of walking, get to see Lisbon, great food
This was a great value...Sophia was a fantastic guide...very knowledgeable, engaged well with everyone and had a lovely personality. The final destination for the Fado was amaing...this was a real experience...the place was packed with people standing outside...however the tour has a reserved table and we had soup, bread, charitzo and potatoes along with wine...everything was tasty ...and the Fado was a true gem to listen to....This will be a definite repeat when we come back to Lisbon again!
Hugo, our tour guide, was wonderfully accommodating. It was a rainy March night, my boyfriend and I were the only ones on the tour. We're vegetarians and don't drink, but Hugo found us great treats and unforgettable seats at the fado restaurant in Bairro Alto. Our walk to the restaurant and tram ride were visual adventures. Hugo was excellent company, willing to let the night last as long as we wanted. He also provided intriguing information about the history of the hotel where we were staying. For a wonderful, local, authentic experience of food, sights and music, we highly recommend this tour. It didn't feel like a tour at all; it felt like being with friends.
We booked this walking tour for our second night in Lisbon and it was a perfect evening after spending the day in the Belem district. The tour guide Joanna was extremely knowledgeable and professional. There was only one other couple with us on the tour so it was very personal. If you are traveling in the winter then do not expect to see the sunset during this tour. In addition, be certain you know your way around the city because the tour ends in a different place then where it began. We used the metro. We would recommend this walking tour for anyone who is visiting Lisbon for the first time and would like to experience the culture and history of Lisbon.
Great spot to experience Fado performance. Guide was great and showed her knowledge of the city and was attentive to all.
We really enjoyed this tour and the Fado music the food and drinks. It was just 5 of us and the guide. She was wonderful and made sure we all were able to find the way back drawing us maps and everything
