Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Prague City Pass. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
The Prague city pass was really good value and the staff were just fantastic. They were so accommodating and made our visit memorable. The courier was very professional and spoke in two languages without having to think, she was exceptional. Visits to the castle and Jewish quarter were really good value for money. Having visited other cities with their passes, the Prague pass comes top for quality, mainly due to the professionalism of their wonderful staff who were so knowledgeable and hospitable.
Initially when we presented the Viator voucher at the kiosk, the person at the counter was unsure of what to do. After a quick phone call, they accepted the voucher and provided the city pass. I think the City Pass is a new thing in Prague because several of the places we presented, they as well were unsure of how to handle the pass. These were even places listed on the pass for entrance and tours. It was worth the money and saved us a hassle of trying to figure out what to buy when visiting the major sights in Prague. The pass provides admittance into the main attractions and includes a short bus tour of the city and an 1 long river cruise.
Quite disappointed. Did not cover half of what the Salzburg card did. When I arrived at the Palace found I could only visit 4 of the places out of 8-9. Then they also wanted me to pay extra for audits. Was quite frustrated.
If you love museums, have limited time or intend using public/tour transport extensively - especially in peak season - City Passes are great value.
However if, like us, you prefer to wander the city centre at will and only catch the main sights, you may or may not get any great $$ saving.
Winter in Prague is magical. There are few crowds, especially early in the morning. So queues are also not an issue at this time.
Finding the kiosk was a bit of a challenge ... much smaller than we anticipated and away from the main city squares.
Some staff at one of the entries (Main Church) within The Palace did not recognise the pass and we wasted time going back to the main ticket office to have our passes confirmed.
The staff at the Gun Powder Tower didn't know about City Pass at all but rather than make a fuss, they just ushered us in. When we checked later, this site didn't appear to be part of the City Pass.
Overall, the maps and guides were excellent and we used the card for some discount entries. We walked everywhere whilst the weather was good (freezing, but good!), so we didn't use the transport component.
I was disappointed with the Prague pass. I was expecting the pass to be as inclusive with sites and attractions as the Paris Pass. Many sites did not honor the Prague Pass.
We used the City Pass for a number of activities...however, was it worth the money we paid for it? Not sure....
This trip prvoed to be a rip-off. We got admittance for part of the old castle, the Jewish museum, A 45 minute drive which dropped us of somewhere else and a 45 minute cruise on the river. All of the other sights mentioned were not covered and then is €55 pp a lot of money. DON'T Do THIS!
It is not worth it to buy this Pass. It's not like other City Passes I had purchased in the past. I do not recommend this one. Buy tickets to museums in Prague.
The worst service. The guide was awful and treated us in a very disrespectful way. Would never recommend
We went on the bus tour, which was very interesting and helped us to locate places. We were dropped at the castle but unfortunately the passes we had showed that we had been to the castle in May, which we had not, one of the women at the old palace managed to eventually sort things out for us but by then we had had enough and gave up on the castle. We also went on the boat short boat trip which we enjoyed but overall although we had a great time in Prague I don't feel the City pass was a good buy and I don't think we will be buying then on any future city trips.
