What You Can Expect
Czech beer-makers are standard-bearers of the craft, having a long history of brewing that dates back more than 1,000 years. As your guide talks about this proud tradition, learn about beer-making in the country today and enjoy a few samples of frothy, top-notch craft brews! While you’re sipping, you’ll also hear about Czech cuisine, some of the most savory and hearty food in Europe and the perfect complement to these robust lagers and stouts.
Next, head back outside and make your way to a microbrewery and gastropub around the corner for samples of award-winning lagers from one of the country’s most renowned brewmasters. As you savor the beer, be impressed by its high quality and freshness, as well as the friendly ambience of the pub.
You’ll then be served with a plentiful platter of traditional Czech food, made by the gastropub’s well-known local chef. There’s plenty to eat, so dig in!
Your tour ends here, where you can stay on your own if you’d like to continue your discovery of Prague’s wonderful food and beer.
Ironically, the same tour guide, Michael, that had led our morning history tour, also led this tour. And we were once again the only 2 people which was great! He intended on talking us to three pub crawls, but we were tired after our first 2 because 1. we're not big drinkers and 2. we were just plain tired from all our traveling. He seems very knowledgeable and it was fun learning interesting new facts. We're now dark beer drinkers!
It turned out that I was the only person on this tour, so I had a personalised tour. The tour itself was very enjoyable and proved useful for discovering some very nice places to eat later during my stay, which were central and reasonably priced.
On the downside, I think the tour was more than a little overpriced, especially considering it was outsourced to a local tour firm, who advertise the same tour for almost half the price. Would gladly have paid this Viator rate to the guide who escorted me around, as he definitely did a good job.
