After pickup from your Puerto Plata hotel, hop on your tour bus with your local guide and head to the Brugal Rum Center, where you can buy duty-free rum. Then, visit the Dominican Amber Museum, which houses a unique collection of valuable Dominican amber. Then, visit San Felipe Fort, one of the oldest buildings still standing in Puerto Plata. Visit the small museum at the fort, where you can see wartime artifacts such as guns and cannon balls. Take in gorgeous Atlantic Ocean views from Fort San Felipe before continuing on.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant before soaking up the sun at Sosua Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic. You’ll also get the chance to haggle over prices at a local market in Sosua, where you’ll find everything from paintings to jewelry to rum!
Next, take a guided tour of Isabel de Torres Mountain. Ride a cable car up to the top of the mountain and admire breathtaking views of the bay. After your cable car ride back down the mountain, you’ll be transported back to your Puerto Plata hotel.

It was a great trip. We weren't rushed at all. I just wish we could truly see more of the city. Visiting 3 different jewelry shops was not my idea of a city tour at all. I would not by this option again or recommend it until that changes.

I gave it a 3 stars rating to be generous. Most of the time is spent in rum and jewelry factories that mask the store trying to sell the products. It is like going shopping experience, even thought the amber and Larimar museums are nice to see. There was no lunch includded, even thought it was mentioned like part of the deal. The best part for me was the visit to the city center and the cable car ride with amazing views. I would recommend adding more sightseen of the beautiful Puerto Plata area and surroundings, and less shopping experience.
