Very nice time. Excellent experience. Loved the hands on with the starfish and also the water there. Food at lunch was great. Staff on both the speedboats and catamaran were top notch. Photographer was superior and the bottle of rum with our picture on the label was a great memory. Great way to spend a day.
The trip was amazing. We loved the catamaran ride, cruising along with a rum and coke in hand. Saona Island was good. Walk along to the right of the beach for less people. The BBQ'd chicken was fantastic! The speedboat trip on the way back was great. All in all a great day out and worth the money. Saved over £200 booking via Viator instead of our holiday reps, Thompson.
The tour was excellent. Saona Island is a beautiful place and well worth the trip. The combination of speed boat there and Catamaran back gave a good balance.
For anyone told to book through their own agents please don't bother - the trip was almost identical to those parties from travel agents (same boats same time spans same bbq food etc), the only slight variation being a pick up in a taxi before heading to a shopping mall for transfer onto a coach (direct drop off on way back). We waited maybe 20 minutes for the final few passengers but aside from that we got the same enjoyment and service having paid £60pp than our fellow First Choice Customers did paying nearer to £125pp. A great company and will use again on our next holiday.
The catamaran cruise was great, we met some awesome people. The rum was flowing too, great! Saona Island was beautiful and the starfish in the natural pool were amazing! Great way to end out honeymoon!!
Loved this excursion!! This is a very relaxing activity that is an all day affair....but by far the best we could have started our honeymoon! The Catamaran hosted about 80 people, with a full bar with fun latin music sailed us to Saona Island sun bathing on the deck. Then we arrived at the island where people had the option to lay on the beach, snorkel in the crystal clear ocean or take a merengue lesson :). We especially loved the guy who wheeled around fresh coconuts, then cut off the tops so we could fill them with our choice of cocktail to enjoy on the beach. We finished off by speed boating to the Blue Lagoon where our guide dove for large starfish that we could jump in the water and take turns holding! The whole trip was heavenly!!
What an amazing tour !!! Fausto number 2 was our guide. He was very knowledgable and gave us great facts and history about Dominican Republic. The bus ride was great, they picked us up on time. Saona Island was beautiful, the lunch at the beach was delicious. The ride back on the speedboat was a fun
This was a great time we had so much fun. I would recommend this trip for all.
This trip was well worth the money and far exceeded our expectations! Fun from pick up to drop off. Great staff during the trip, gorgeous scenery, good food on the island. Some Vendors are annoying on the island but not as many as other activities. Cocktails all day long. Informative tour guide
Tons of fun! If you book any trip during your Punta Cana, this is the one! Do not do the Dune Buggies.
This trip was amazing. Beautiful water and beaches. I got a massage in the beach over looking the water (remember to wash the oil off after they are done or u will burn). The food was really good. I didn't trust the water they provided but the rum and beer got me through.
Long day. . .12hrs
An excellent trip on all counts. The whole experience was quite remarkable and the tour guides were superb. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone. The island is very beautiful and if you want solitude, away from the crowds, you only have to walk a few hundred yards down the coast to escape, and not see another person for miles.
Wonderful day, great fun on the boats and a beautiful island, lots of rum, staff were terrific especially Fausto #1 with his 3 languages, I recommend to all. Geoff Nash, Toronto
I enjoyed this excursion. Our tour guy was Fausto. Very friendly staff.
This was wonderful a full day of fun in the sun. The staff was great and very informative. We had a wonderful day.
OMG we had so much fun and the crew was a blast..a 10 on our list
Fantastic tour. It is a very long coach ride (2.5 hours each way from our hotel) but well worth it. Beautiful island and the boat journeys were superb. To book through the hotel rep was nearly US$100 more expensive!!!
It is approximately one hour from Hotel zone. The ship to Saona was the same one pictured on the web site. Drinks are served without limit on the ship. I arrive at the island in approximately around one hour. It is free time from there. The ocean is shallow and beautiful, but almost no fish. Lunch was free. You can purchase pictures or a DVD here if you want. (I forgot). Around 3:00 you can ride in a speed boat and then you can enjoy about 45min in a nice clean part of the ocean that is like a pool The return is by speed boat, I arrive immediately and I return by bus from there.
This was a great trip. My only negative is that it is a bit too long. Got picked up at 7 a.m. and didn't get back until 7 p.m. But overall, it was a great trip and our tour guide was great. The catamaran was so much fun.
YOU MUST CALL once you get to your hotel to make your reservation even though you already paid it on the website. To get to the catamaran from Punta Cana was about 2 hours and departure from the hotel was at 7am so make sure you eat breakfast before leaving for the tour pack sunblock and something to munch on. Our tour guide was Fausto #2 and he was extremely informative about the Dominican Republic with history, politics, and the economy which makes the ride seem much less than what it is. Once you get to the southern part of the DR you take a small boat to the catamaran. On the catamaran there's all you can drink with lots of music. You then take a small boat from the catamaran to the virgin island where you can swim on some nice sand and water and all you can eat and drink. From there you go to take a speed boat back to feed fish walk in the middle of the ocean to hold starfish and visit a mangrove and visit where part of the blue lagoon was filmed. Overall a great experience. We did not get back to the hotel until 8pm. This is the #1 thing to do in the Dominican Republic.
