This was an outstanding excursion. Charlie was the best. A must do tour.
Excellent trip with Charlie leading us! We got lucky and it rained the night before we went, so plenty of water splashed up on us and we threw away our shirts after the adventure. It's worth every bit of it.
I highly recommend this tour compared to any other local buggies tours. With these you can actually drive fast and not feel like you are part of a convoy our group was only 4 buggies. The tour of the local Punta Cana was great and the whole experience was wonderful.
One of the highlights of my trip to DR! The tour offers something completely different and has such a nice personal touch to it. Charlie was great and his knowledge of the area was impressive. Don't wear nice clothes and make sure you can drive stick! All in all really great fun.
The dune buggy tour was absolutely amazing! We learned things about the Dominican that we never knew and we got to tour a lot of different areas! Would definitely recommend doing this if you plan on visiting the Dominican Republic!! Had a blast!!!
This was a fun and educational trip. We saw the real DR not just the tourist spots. The folks running the tour are very nice and know where they are going. I would recommend this to anyone.
The kind and spunky Angela picked us up from our hotel and drove us through dirt backroads to their colorful buggy shop in Bavaro. Here we met our amazing, one-of-a-kind tour guide Charlie. He gave us important safety tips and we were off sooner than I thought we'd be. Through rough and rocky dirt paths with mud puddles up to 2 feet deep, do not dress in your finest attire. We were covered in mud and having the time of our lives. We stopped at a farm house for sweet Dominican coffee and treats, rode buggies through a bumpy quarry, more mud of course, but the highlight of the trip was traveling through the local villages and throwing candy to the kids who were out there waiting for us. They high fived us and jumped up and down as we passed by. It was an unforgettable view of the REAL Dominican Republic. Then we ended the trip at the gorgeous and pristine Macau Beach where we rinsed our filthy bodies in the crystal clean ocean. I cannot recommend this half day tour enough. We did a private buggy that we do not regret - lots more driving time! TIPS - you must drive a stick shift. Also wear old shoes you don't care about getting super muddy and a dark swimsuit underneath old clothes so the mud won't stain. I made a mistake of wearing a new peach bikini that didn't quite make it out alive. But WELL WORTH IT!! We can't wait to go back. Even just to see Angela and Charlie :
Great time. Would recommend to all. Charlie knows what he is doing and makes it very interesting. Great to see the true people and culture of the country. We did the 1/2 day. Drove over 50 miles. NICE!
This was the MOST FUN excursion we went on out of 3! The tour guide is super nice and informative. This was the best way to see the DR! The tour feels like it was made for you and your group - unlike some of the other big tours where they heard you in and out / around like cattle. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an adventure!
What an awesome tour! We went as a family, with our two boys ages 11 and 13, and we all had an amazing time. A great way to see the less traveled land of the DR and to see how the people there live.
This was a great tour ! I would definitely recommend it . The beach at the last stop is absolutely beautiful ! So much that we took a cab there the next day from our hotel! You gotta try this , you won't be sorry !
We were pleasantly surprised to discover that this is not a large high volume operator. This excursion is a 3 person operation. The equipment is far better than the other options on the island and the quality of the experience could never be matched by a large operator. Excellent value, we would return to DR just to hire these guys for an extended excursion.
Caution: you need to take it serious when they say experienced drivers required.
Extreme Buggies (Charlie and Jose) went out of their way to make it a memorable experience for us.
My family of three including 9 year old son did the 1/2 day tour. I don't know if I would take kids younger than that. Also make sure someone in the group is very good at driving manually!!! We loved the opportunity to get out of the resort to see some of the Dominican Republic. You will get muddy. I highly suggest wearing a cap and bandanna to tie around your mouth and nose. Wear clothes and shoes you don't mind throwing away afterwards too. You will also drive down a highway back in town with the crazy way they drive over in the DR so prepared for that. It made me a bit nervous as a Mom. It was the highlight of our trip!
Super Fun time!!! Charlie is a great tour guide. We got to see a beautiful beach, a local grocery store, a home in the countryside (complete with cock fighting ring). Very interesting and soo much fun to ride in the dune buggies! Fair warning though, if it's rained at all you will get very dirty so don't wear anything light colored. It was a super fun time. Would recommend to all.
Unbelievable! We actually got to see what the Dominican Republic is really like and Charlie gave an awesome tour. Be ready to get muddy and to see the most beautiful beach ever too :)
Had a great day good guide!!!! Got to see some of the country side and a beautiful beach to wash off at!!! Thanks for the memories and good times!!! Would recommend this excursion to everyone!!!
We had a great time and would do it again! The tour was everything it said it would be!
Don't let the ride to the shop fool you, this was perhaps the best excursion our family ever took while traveling out of the US. Karl was an Excellent guide and there was no way we could have imagined the places he would take us; from the quaint rural everyday lives of most of the island people to the majesty of the abuttment at Macao beach. Every stop, and there were many, included interesting facts, things you would not read in a travel brochure. We forgot, but take candy or trinkets for rural children!!!
Just superb...great guide and small group so very personalised and added benefit of seeing how the local Dominicans live. One bit of advice wear really old clothes as you get really muddy! highly recommend the tour
