Great day out and well worth the money! The tour guide who picked us up from our respective hotels in the morning and drove us to our destination was funny and informative along the way. The time spent out on the water - 3 hours - absolutely flew past and we were very fortunate to have incredible weather conditions. Clear blue skies, blinding sun and calm waters. During the 3 hours we spotted Beluga, Minke, Humpback and Blue whales. To see a tiny fraction of the biggest mammals on earth in its natural environment was incredible and unforgettable. We also watched in awe and jealousy as a Blue whale unexpectedly surfaced extremely close to one of the other boats. But that's the luck of the draw, and you're watching wild animals. Understand that you may only catch glimpses of the whales, and from a distance. For me, however small a sighting, I felt very fortunate to be there to witness it.
We went October 3rd. We were afraid it was going to be too late in the season to see whales, but we were wrong! We saw 3 different species, beluga, minke and humpback plus lots of seals. The entire tour was excellent. The bus ride from Quebec City to the boat and back was breathtaking. Driver was great.
We had just left a 10 day cruise and this was the best tour we were had during the whole trip! This was my first Viator excursion and we will definitely be using you again.
Thank you for such a great memory.

We saw lots of whales...exceeding my expectations. The zodiac maneuvered easily to see different whales. The guides were excellent, both on the tour bus and on the zodiac. The fjord tour was exciting and beautiful. Despite the rainy day, it was a great experience. (You may get a little damp.)
This was an awesome excursion. The shuttle driver picked us up at our hotel at the agreed upon time. We met at Plaza D'Armes in front of Chateau du Frontenac with our tour group. Our driver, Yves, was very very very informative and funny. The drive to the bay was so beautiful. The Quebec countryside was amazing. We stopped in a sandwich shop and had great sandwiches and coffee. We saw a blue whale, belugas, and minkies, among other sea animals. We hope to do this tour again when we return with the rest of our family, in the near future.
Awesome experience! 2 blue whale sightings, 4 fin whales! Loved to Fjord. Definitely highly recommended.
This tour was fantastic and great value for money. From boarding the coach in Québec city our guide gave us lots of information about the surrounding area, history and culture. The whale watching was awesome and I felt privileged to see these great mammals. Highly recommended.
Absolutely brilliant day out! The 3-hour bus ride to St Catherine seemed like a chore initially, but our driver Yves made it very interesting (and funny!). The whale-watching was wonderful - we got to see humpback whales and seals :) I would do this again in a heartbeat!
Our tour guide (Yves) made the drive very pleasurable with all his knowledge of the area and his witty humour. We have a 3, 9 and 12 year old that equally enjoyed the trip. I would suggest that you bring warm clothes for the wale watching since the temperature out there drops by about 10 to 15•
I had a wonderful day with AML. The driver who picked me up at the hotel was polite and funny. The bus driver for the day spoke English, French, and Spanish. The scenery on the way to Baie Ste.-Catherine was beautiful. I am so glad that I chose the Zodiak boat instead of the large boat. Aside from the fact that going out in a Zodiak is fun, it is also a fast boat, so it can respond rapidly if one of the other captains radios that they've spotted a whale. There is no guarantee that you will see any whales at all, but I had the very good fortune to see a blue whale, a minke, a humpback, and several belugas. Merci beaucoup a tout!
A very well organised full day trip. Excellent coach driver/guide, comfortable coach and as Delta hotel was first pick up we actually had choice of any seats !! Cafe used for mid journey break a little small for full coach, but good quality and friendly.
Whale watch boat spacious with good visibility if a little "tired" internally, but with a very enthusiastic commentary from whale experts. (and clean toilets !)
Little choice of food from on board Bistro, would have been better to take our own and rely on them for drinks only.
Several whales of various types seen -- close enough to excite us without harassing them. Some superb photo opportunities.
Overall good value for money, an enjoyable coach trip through glorious countryside, and plenty of whale sightings close enough to satisfy.
Good ride there and back. Didn't see much whales but we saw some and enjoyed every moment of it. Thanks
Excelent !!!!.... especially Ives (our expert guide/environmentalist driver).... he is better than "the best"...
Thanks... Merci... Gracias !!!!!
Excellent experience, very friendly and interesting guide. Truly relaxing, yet, making a lot from one day.
Excellent trip! Water was perfect - saw blue whales, belugas, porpoises, seals and minke whales. Very professional and felt very safe. Would definitely do it again!
The tour was phenomenal . My husband and I enjoyed this experience very much and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
The trip was very well organized and delighful. I strongly raccomend it.
It was a wonderful trip and want to do it again on a nice day!! The fog was kind of thick and we couldn't see much, but the pilot of the boat and the people on it made it fun anyways. We did see whales which was great. The bus trip to the boat was great. The driver knows customer service, was funny and entertaining.
I gave this a 5 star as the Viator is the way to go. Really enjoyed this.
Door to Door Service from your Hotel. A local taxi (shuttle bus) will pick you up and drive you to Chateau Frontenac to board a picturesque coach tour from Chateau Frontenac (Musee du Fort) along the picturesque St-Lawrence Northern coast line directly to your destination of Baie Sainte-Catherine. The coach driver (Yves) provides a humourous informative monologue along the way with a 20 minute stop for "weewee-wawa" and an opportunity to grab a fresh snack from a cheese factory. Boarding the "GRANDE FLEUVE" boat in Baie-Sainte Catherine for a three hour whale watching cruise a Naturalist-Guide will provide commentary on the variety of whales (along with their personalised names such as "tic-tac-toe" and "Snowhite") including Minke, Fin, Humpback and Beluga which we saw on our tour. Before returning to shore we also were provided a tour of the Tadoussac Fjord where we saw Belugas exiting the bay. Viator made the full day tour a ballanced blend of relaxing and very exciting. I highly recommend this tour with Viator.
Great experience from start to finish. Enjoyed the guided tour during the scenic bus trip. Despite some rainy weather the whale watching experience in the zodiac was fantastic!
Although it was cold and a bit rainy well worth the adventure. The excursion started with a 3 yr transport ride in a small bus. The driver, Yves, was excellent. Great personality and brimming with information. Because we had a limited number of passengers he was able to take some side trips along the way, including a stop at a diary farm to purchase organic cheeses and meats which we had onboard for lunch. Delicious! The scenery was great and I would have paid for just the bus ride. The boat was comfortable and plenty of narration by onboard staff who pointed out a number of whales. We saw plenty of whales that day so no worries on spotting whales. Highly recommend this excursion. Viator made it easy to book and answered all my questions.
