Michaelmas Cay is a protected sanctuary that plays host to 27,000 migratory seabirds and is one of the most important nesting sites in the Southern Hemisphere. This unique sand cay is ideal for nature lovers, with 14 different species nesting on the cay. Lying 22 nautical miles from Cairns, the surrounding outer reef is a breathtaking garden of exotic marine life, magnificent coral and giant clams. There is more variety of tropical fish here than the entire Atlantic Ocean.

For those interested in exploring the coral reef by diving on their day out to the Great Barrier Reef - introductory dives for the novice and certified dives for experienced divers are also available.

Departure Point: Tour departs from centrally located Port Douglas hotels. If hotel details not advised at time of booking, cruise departs from Marlin Jetty, Cairns Departure Time: Boarding is at 7:45am, and the cruise departs at 8:30am Return details: Cruise concludes in Cairns at approximately 5:00pm, followed by a hotel drop off in Port Douglas at approximately 6:30pm. Depart Cairns. Safety brief enroute to the reef, including a snorkeling and scuba diving presentation.

Signup for snorkeling tours, semi submersible and scuba diving. Ensure bookings to avoid disappointment.

Distribution and fitting of snorkeling and diving equipment.

10:30am
Arrive at Michaelmas Cay. Fish feeding presentation. Commence morning activities. Shuttle to cay and return approximately every 20 minutes. Guided snorkeling and reef interpretation tour with marine naturalists. Semi Submersible tours. First scuba dive.

Lunch is served. Finished at 1.00pm.

Continuation of afternoon activities. Shuttle to cay. Sunbathing. Semi Submersible Tours. Snorkeling, diving and relaxing.

All aboard. Afternoon tea and sign off safety sheet.
